01What Claude Code Cloud Is and How It Works

Claude Code Cloud is a new feature from Anthropic that lets Claude Code run tasks on cloud infrastructure. This means your AI can keep working even when your laptop is off. You set a schedule and a prompt, and Claude handles the rest.

It works by using Anthropic's own cloud servers. You specify a repository, a schedule, and a prompt. Claude automatically implements the task without needing a local session running.

This is a big change from before, when your computer had to stay on.

In this episode, Julian Goldie explains how this update makes Claude Code more powerful than ever. It brings features that were once only available in tools like OpenClaw, but with less setup and more security.

02Two New Features: Scheduled Tasks and Channels

Anthropic announced two updates on March 20, 2026. The first is Cloud Scheduled Tasks. This lets you run Claude tasks on a schedule without keeping your computer on.

You just go to claude.ai/code, pick a task, set how often it runs, and save.

The second feature is Claude Code Channels. This connects Claude Code to messaging platforms like Telegram or Discord. You can message Claude from your phone and get replies back.

It uses an MCP server to link your Claude Code session to the messaging app.

These features together make Claude Code more accessible. You can now control your AI from anywhere, without needing to be a technical expert.

03How to Set Up Claude Code Cloud

Setting up Claude Code Cloud is simple. Here are the steps Julian shows:

  1. Go to claude.ai/code.
  2. Make sure you have a Claude subscription.
  3. Click on the schedule option.
  4. Pick your repository.
  5. Set the frequency (like every day at 9 a.m.).
  6. Write your prompt in plain English.
  7. Click save.

That's it. You don't need to configure a server or keep your laptop running. For channels, you need to update Claude Code, install BUN, and then ask it to set up a remote connection.

04How to Use Scheduled Tasks and Channels

You can use scheduled tasks for many things. For example, every day at 9 a.m., Claude can check your open client work and flag anything overdue. Or it can pull website analytics and send you a summary each morning.

You can also set a weekly task to review your content calendar.

For channels, you can message Claude from your phone. Say you're in a coffee shop. You message Claude on Telegram and ask it to do something.

Claude uses your local environment—files, tools, Git—to complete the task, then replies back in the same chat.

This feels like having a real assistant that is always available. You can be out with family or at a meeting, and Claude handles the work.

05Results and Comparisons with OpenClaw

Julian compares Claude Code Cloud to OpenClaw. OpenClaw was an autonomous agent that ran 24/7. But it had security problems, with over 135,000 exposed instances found on the internet.

It also took a long time to set up and was technical.

Claude Code Cloud solves these issues. It runs on Anthropic's own infrastructure, so it's more secure. The setup is much faster—no terminal needed.

You just click and save.

For freelancers, this can save hours each week. Julian calculates that a freelancer saving 2-3 hours weekly gets 144 hours back a year. That's four full weeks of time.

06Tips, Limits, and Mistakes to Avoid

There are some limits to know. For channels, there is no message history by default. If you want Claude to remember past conversations, you need to save a memory file yourself—a simple text document.

Telegram has a 4096 character limit for messages. Long responses may get cut off. Also, there is a 20 MB download cap.

Channels don't have web browsing built in yet.

A big thing to remember: channels require your computer to be on. It's not like cloud tasks. If your computer is off, the bot won't respond.

Avoid thinking you can use channels from anywhere without your machine.

07Who Should Use Claude Code Cloud

Claude Code Cloud is not just for coders. Julian says it can automate websites, build landing pages, and create apps. You can do all this from your phone, which means you need fewer people and can automate more.

This is for business owners, agency managers, freelancers, and creators. If you run an agency, you can have Claude check every client account daily and flag issues before you wake up. For e-commerce, Claude can pull sales data every night.

Even if you don't write code, you can use it. The setup is plain English. As Julian says, most people won't do it because nobody showed them how.

But those who do get an edge that grows each month.

08The Future of Claude Code Cloud

Julian shares what's coming. Six months ago, Claude Code was only for developers. Now it's opening up to everyone.

The team wants to give you many options to talk to Claude remotely. A quote from Tarek on the Claude Code team says, 'We want to give you a lot of different options in how you talk to Claude remotely.'

Expect more ways to reach Claude, like WhatsApp or email. The plugin system will likely be extended. Tasks will get smarter, and cloud will get more secure.

The direction is clear: AI agents that work for you all day, through apps you already use, without needing to become an engineer.
