Claude Operon, AI, just shocked the world and Anthropic hasn't said a single word about it. Two nights ago, a tracker called Testing Catalog found something buried under the Claude desktop app code. A brand new mode, hidden, not live, not announced, just sitting there in the background waiting. It's called Operon.

The moment I saw what it's designed to do, I knew this video needed to happen. Under the hood, Operon is designed with plan mode and auto mode, borrowed directly from Claude code. It manages multiple sessions at once, so researchers can run several projects in parallel.

So back to Operon. The name itself is deliberate. In biology, an Operon is a cluster of genes that get transcribed together because they all serve the same function. The classic example is the lac Operon in E.

coli. Three genes, one purpose, fully coordinated. Anthropic named this thing Operon for a reason. The message is built into the name.
