Claude Opus 5 VS Fable 5: Who Wins?

Full transcript

Claude Fable 5 vs Opus 5, who wins? Today, I'm going to be showing you my side-by-side comparisons and all the builds that I've created side-by-side with Fable 5 to show you which one is the best, how to get the most out of them, how I find both models compare, and also what we've got here. So this is Fable 5 on the left-hand side, and then we have, for example, Claude Opus 5 on the right-hand side. Actually, if you look at the comparison side-by-side, the quality is really, really nice with Opus 5.

Now, this doesn't mean that Fable 5 is better than Opus 5 just from one single test, and I'll walk you through all the builds in a second, but the quality, the gameplay, the style, the coding, everything else is looking really, really nice. Let's compare another example here. So this is a kind of Minecraft-style game. You see, like, it's pretty cool with the lighting.

The lighting changes depending on the enemies and everything else that's going on inside here. Bear in mind, the Fable 5 is very similar on the benchmarks to something like Claude Opus 5. The only thing that's really changed is that Opus 5 is a lot cheaper than Fable 5 if you're using the API. Also, you can get the full subscription with Opus 5 on your Claude plan, whereas, for example, if you're using Fable 5, you can't use your full subscription.

You can only use 50% of it, but in terms of the build quality, you can see here, like, both of these are really good. However, if I have a choice, I'd actually go with Opus 5's build on both of these different tests, and these are just standard tests we do for, like, every single model. Now, also, if you look at this, a lot of people are asking, like, why would you continue to use Fable 5 if Opus 5 is basically at the same level? I think what's going to happen pretty soon is that Fable 6 or a new version of Fable 5 is going to drop that's going to be way better because, from what I'm seeing right here, it doesn't make any sense to actually continue using Fable 5 when it's so expensive and also can use so many more tokens, and you don't get a full token allowance like you do with Opus 5.

So that's what I'm seeing, but who knows what's going to happen next. This is another example. So this is kind of like a Skyrim-style game, as you can see. This one actually is pretty much broken.

Like, if we try and move forward here, we can only move sideways, which is really weird. And then to move forwards, it's the button to move sideways. Like, the controls are totally broken. The graphics are actually pretty nice, and you can see, like, there's enemies and stuff over there, but the actual gameplay, pretty bad.

Let's have a look, for example, at Fable 5. This one easily wins. So you can see Fable 5, like, the design, the graphics. It is a little bit buggy, but at least you can move forward and the controls are working properly here.

And then it's got the enemies as well. So overall, for sure, Fable 5 wins on that one. Let's have another look at an example here. So the quality of this output from Opus 5, much, much nicer.

Like, more fun to play, more 3D, better skills, et cetera. Just like the vibe and the feel of the game is better. I've seen that on a lot of the tests that we've done so far. This is a racing game.

So we can see here, for example, like, Opus 5 is just really, really good at coding out. And also it's a lot faster as well. That's something to bear in mind. It's like, it's faster when it's coding out, builds better quality stuff.

A lot of these are like one shots as well. So it just created this in one shot and built it out. But yeah, I mean, so far you've seen so many different builds from Opus 5 that are really, really good here. So we'll look at the Parachute game here.

Now there's a clear quality difference, in my opinion, on both of these. So if we have a look side by side here, this is kind of crazy and buggy, this one, as you can see. But if we have a look at Fable 5, like Fable 5's version is not particularly nice for this Parachute game. I mean, at least this one is a bit more interesting from Opus 5.

So on a lot of these tests, Opus 5 is either holding its own or doing better. Let's have a look at this one. This is Twilight Veil, another kind of open world RPG game. And it looks really cool.

It'd be interesting to see what you could create with Unreal Engine using this as well. I also saw that if you're using Opus 5, it's now 20% off if you're using News Portal. So you can get 20% discount if you're using Hermes with News Portal using Opus 5, which is pretty interesting as well. I haven't tested it out there.

For me, I usually don't pay for APIs with something like Hermes because you can just use KineK3 or something like that. And it doesn't cost you anything extra on top of the coding plan. Yeah. At the same time, I would say like the colors and the vibe of the Fable 5 version, much, much nicer overall.

I mean, like, it just, it feels and it looks cooler. The gameplay is better. The pop-ups are better and everything else. Let's see what else we've got here.

We've got Dragon Realm. See, this is one that actually built yesterday with Opus 5 and it looks great as you can see. And also one thing I'll tell you now is like, this is a huge step up on Opus 4.8. Wow.

Opus 4.8, I actually, ever since Fable 5 came out, I've come to despise using Opus 4.8 more and more. Like it's just a total nightmare. It gets a lot of things wrong. You really have to babysit it and watch out for all the pitfalls when you build this stuff out.

So like, it's kind of like Whack-A-Mole with Opus 4.8 where you teach you something, then it forgets something else. And then you have to like constantly compensate and check all of its work and quality control it a lot more, whereas for example, Opus 5 and particularly Fable 5, just they're way more autonomous. So yeah, it's doing a much better job than Opus 4.8. This is another example.

So this is like a 3D racing game, kind of similar to GTA as you can see here. And similar sort of style. And as you can see, like the physics, the gameplay, the details and everything else look super nice on this game. I will say the color's probably nicer on Fable 5, but at the same time, like there's not as much going on on the Fable 5 version here.

I'll be interested to know which one you prefer. This has a very particular style, which I think just comes down to preference. This is a dog fight game. And again, like looks way more interesting from Opus 5.

I think it's just learned to create stuff better. And then we have a Raycaster game as well. Let's test it out. I just literally left Opus 5 like building all night.

It created this awesome stuff. I mean, again, this is better than Fable 5. I'd also be interested to see like what would happen if you had a fusion of models? If you were using fusion from Open Router and you had, for example, Fable 5 with Opus 5, I think you could create some really, really cool stuff right there.

But the lighting, the graphics, the physics, the gameplay, everything is better from Opus 5 on a lot of these builds. Whereas Fable 5's version, not quite as good, not quite as fun to use. This one as well. So yeah, overall, I mean, I would say the Opus 5, you might as well switch to that.

I don't see much point in continuing to use Fable 5 unless you're going for like something through Super Frontier or you're running like a goal mode or something like that that's just looping for hours. Honestly, at this point, like Opus 5 does a great job, creates awesome stuff, can hold its own against Frontier models, is way cheaper, performs better on a lot of the benchmarks. And I think what's going to happen next is like a new Fable 5 or new Fable version will drop, whether that's Fable 6 or Fable 5.5, something like that. That's got to come next because there's no reason to use Fable 5 anymore.

And I think as well, this has come from pressure from KimiK3, from GPC 5.6, which have just got a lot better over the last few weeks, which has put so much pressure on Claude to release something decent like this, that's a lot more affordable because some people have been complaining about Claude. It's not been a good run for Claude over the last few weeks. Now, if you want to enhance it from the benchmarks, you can see here, by the way, if you want to have a look at anything that we've created, you can check that out inside GoldieBench, check out goldiebench.com to see all that stuff. And if we have a look at the benchmarks here as well, just in general, Opus 5 is winning on a lot of the benchmarks.

In the actual description, they say near Fable 5 Frontier Intelligence. So they say it comes close to the Frontier Intelligence of Claude Fable 5 at half the price. So it's like 50% cheaper. But from what I'm seeing and from all the benchmarks I'm looking at, honestly, it's like beating Fable 5, but they didn't seem to market like that.

Whether that's because they're worried like everyone's just going to switch to Opus 5 or whether they're worried, for example, people just stop spending on Fable 5 or just get confused, I'm not sure. But for some reason, they've marketed it as like comes close to Fable 5, which I also don't understand. So yeah, I think Opus 5, definitely the model to switch to, very good model, creates awesome stuff. You've seen this other side versus Fable 5.

You've seen that it can create Frontier stuff and also you've seen that it can do it at half the price, which is awesome. So if you want to get my full agent operating system with Claude 5 built in, you can see it right here. So you can use this inside the chat, you can use it inside your workspace, you can combine it with different models like Hermes and add to Gravity and everything else. And this is available inside the AI Profitable Boardroom.

Link in the comments description or just go to the AI Profitable Boardroom.com. And inside there as well, you can get our Claude Opus 5 and Fable 5 masterclasses on how to use all this sort of stuff. And this is inside the AI Profitable Boardroom. It's my AI automation community where you can learn, grow and scale with AI automation.

It's just great for meeting people as well. So inside the community, you can post questions, get help and support in real time.
