Google's AI Takeover Just Started

Google's AI takeover just started and I'm not being dramatic. Look at what Google just did in March alone. They dropped 7 major Gemini updates in a single month. Import memory so you can bring your entire chat GPT and clawed history into Gemini.

Personal intelligence went free for every US user. Liria 3 Pro for full AI music tracks. And Gemini pushed deep inside Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive. The biggest upgrade to Gemini Live yet.

And a fix so Gemini stops cutting you off mid-sentence on Android. And new Android features that let Gemini handle tasks across your phone. 7 updates, one month. Google is moving faster than anyone right now.

And if you're not paying attention, you're going to fall behind. So let me talk you through exactly every single one of these changes because what Google did this month changes how you work, how you create and how you use AI moving forward. So let's start with the newest one. Import memory to Gemini.

This dropped on March 26th and it's a direct shot at chat GPT and clawed. Here's the problem it solves. If you've been using chat GPT for months, it knows things about you, your preferences, your writing style, your projects. Same with clawed.

Switching to Gemini just meant losing everything from scratch. Losing all that context. And Google just killed that barrier. You go into Gemini settings, click import memory and it gives you a prompt.

You copy that prompt, paste it into chat GPT or clawed and your old AI generates a summary of everything it knows about you. You paste that summary back into Gemini, boom shakalaka, you're done. Gemini now knows what your old AI knew. And if you want the full history, you can actually export your entire chat archive from chat GPT or clawed as a zip file.

Then you can upload it straight into Gemini. Usually about five gigabytes or around up to that per file. Five files per day or your conversations become searchable inside Gemini. Google's product manager Mariam Sanjay said the goal is to let you pick up right where you left off without starting over.

Bloomberg covered this. So did TechCrunch and PC World. This is Google saying we don't want switching costs to keep you on a competitor. Just bring everything over, zero friction.

And here's why that matters for you. If you spent six months training chat GPT on your business, your clients, your SOPs, your writing style, you don't lose any of it anymore. One import, 10 minutes, Gemini has it all. And Google is also renaming past chats to memory.

So going forward, Gemini remembers your conversation and uses them to personalize every response. Now here's the thing. Anthropic launched a similar import tool for Claude and that was just a few weeks before Google did this. So now Google and Anthropic are building migration tools.

OpenAI hasn't done this. The AI portability race though has just started. And Google's version plugs into an ecosystem that already has your email, calendar, photos, and search history. And that's a huge advantage.

Next up, Lyria 3 Pro. And this dropped on March the 25th. And it's a massive jump in AI music. Last month, Google launched Lyria 3.

You could make 30 second clips, fun jingles, quick social media sounds. Lyria 3 Pro now generates full tracks up to three minutes long. And you control the structure. You tell it where the intro goes, where the verse hits, where the chorus drops, where the bridge comes in.

It understands song composition now. Grammy winner, Young Spielberg already used Lyria for a Google DeepMind short film. DJ and producer Francois Kay is experimenting with it for his own productions. Google AR plus subscribers get 10 tracks a day.

Pro gets 20. Ultra gets 50. And it works inside Google Vids too. So you can add custom soundtracks to any video that you're making.

If you create content, podcasts, future videos, reels, tutorials, you can now generate a custom background track in seconds. Then describe the mood, pick the genre, done. No royalty issues, no licensing headaches. Then on March 17th, Google made personal intelligence free for everyone in the US.

This is the one that should get your attention the most. Personal intelligence was locked behind a Gemini subscription since January. Now it's free. So when you turn it on, Gemini connects to your Gmail, photos, calendar, drive, YouTube history, maps, and search data.

All of it. Then when you ask Gemini a question, it pulls from your entire Google life to give you a personalized answer. So you could ask, for example, when's my next flight? And it finds the booking confirmation in your inbox.

You ask, for example, what was that hotel I stayed at in Lisbon? And it pulls a photo you took there. You ask, what's the name of the person who emailed me about the partnership deal last month? And it finds the exact thread.

This is a personal AI that actually knows you. And Google just gave it away free. Now think about what this means if you run a business. You ask Gemini to find every invoice from a specific vendor over the last 90 days.

Done. You ask it to summarize what a client asked for across three different email threads. Done. You ask it to check your calendar and suggest the best time to schedule a call with your team.

Done. One prompt, no searching, no switching between apps. Google Workspace has over 3 million active users. When Google hands this to everyone for free, they're putting a personal AI assistant in the hands of half the planet.

OpenAI still charges for memory features. Anthropic still charges for projects. Google just made the whole thing free. Now let's talk about what Google did to Workspace. Because this one flew under the radar and you shouldn't have done. On March the 10th, Google pushed Gemini deep inside Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive, all four at the same time. Google usually ships these one app at a time, but what they're doing all four together tells you this was planned as a major move.

And here's what changed. In Google Docs, there's now a help me create tool. You describe what you want. Gemini pulls information from your drive, Gmail and chat to build a fully formatted first draft.

So you type something like, for example, draft a client proposal using the notes from last Tuesday's meeting and the pricing sheet in my drive. And Gemini builds it with actual names, actual numbers, actual details from your files. It's not just generic filler. Then there's a match writing style.

If three people worked on the same doc and the tone is all over the place, one click and Gemini unifies the voice across the entire document. In Sheets, you can now describe an entire spreadsheet and Gemini builds it. Structure, formulas, data, all from one prompt. And there's a fill with Gemini feature that pulls real time data from Google search to populate your sales.

Google ran an internal study with 95 people on a 100 cell task and Gemini was nine times faster than doing it by hand. In Slides, Gemini generates fully editable slides that can match your existing theme, colors, fonts, layout. It pulls context from your files and emails to fill in the content. Google said full presentation generation from a single prompt is also coming soon.

And in Drive, Google added AR overviews. So when you search your drive, instead of getting a list of files, you get a summary at the top that pulls from multiple documents and sites to sources. Plus a new Ask Gemini in Drive feature where you can select a bunch of files and ask questions across all of them. Like for example, what should I ask my accountant before I file my taxes this year?

And it answers based on your actual documents. This is Google fine tuning workspace from a set of tools into an AI powered system that does the work for you. And then there's Gemini Live. Google called this their biggest upgrade to live yet.

Gemini Live on 3.1 is now much faster and it holds your context twice as long. So you can have longer, more natural conversations without Gemini forgetting what you said five minutes ago. No more repeating yourself, for example. And here's a small one that matters more than you think.

Google fixed the paper cut where Gemini would cut you off mid-sentence on Android. If you paused to think before, it would actually jump in. Now it waits. iOS is coming in a few weeks too.

And Josh Woodward from Google confirmed it. It sounds minor, but if you've ever used voice AI and had it interrupt you three words into a four, you know how annoying that is. And now it's finally fixed. And finally, Gemini on Android got smarter this month too.

Smarter searches, quick restaurant picks, handling tasks across your phone is more seamless. Google is turning Gemini into the default way you interact with your Android device. So let me put this all together for you, because here's what Google actually did in March. They made their personal AI free.

They built a tool to steal users from Chachibity and Claude. They dropped a music generation model that creates three minute tracks. They embedded AI into every single workspace app. They made Gemini Live faster and smarter.

They fixed voice interruptions and they pushed Gemini into Android as well. Google is weaving AI into every single thing you already use. Your email, your documents, your spreadsheets, your presentations, your phone, your TV, your photos, your calendar and your search history. And here's what most people miss.

Google doesn't need you to download a new app or sign up for a new service. You're already inside their ecosystem. 3 billion workspace users, for example, over 750 million Gemini monthly active users. They just flip the switch and suddenly AI is everywhere you already are.

OpenAI has to convince you to open Chachibity, for example, right? Anthropic has to convince you to visit Claude. But Google just has to update the tools you already use every day. That's the advantage.

And now they're using it aggressively. So if you're a freelancer, this means your Google Docs can now write your proposals for you using your actual client emails. If you run your agency, your sheets can build reporting dashboards from a single prompt. If you're a creator, you can generate custom music for your content without paying for stack audio.
