01What Is the Hermes Idea Foundry?

The Hermes Idea Foundry is a new framework inside Julian Goldie's Agent Operating System. It takes an idea you drop in — one line, a voice note, or a link — and runs it through a pipeline of AI agents. The agents classify the idea, write a plan, and then a project manager with sub-agents builds the actual deliverable.

You only step in once: to approve or reject the plan.

In this episode, Julian shows how the Idea Foundry works live. He drops random ideas like an SEO calculator or a meditation timer app. Within seconds, the agents classify the idea, draft a full plan with milestones, and move it to a human gate.

After he approves, the agents build the tool and he can preview it right from the dashboard.

02Main Features of the Idea Foundry Pipeline

  • Capture without structure: Drop any idea — messy line, voice note, link — no tags or folders needed.
  • Classify and route: An agent reads the idea and decides if it's a project to build, a quick task, an idea to park, a reference, or something to flag.
  • Auto-generated plan: The agent writes a proposal with the approach, milestones, and which sub-agents will build it.
  • Single human gate: You only approve or reject the plan. That's your one decision per idea.
  • Build by sub-agents: A project manager agent assigns sub-agents to build the real deliverable — a landing page, app, or game.
  • Saved to Obsidian vault: Every built project and its notes are saved as plain markdown in your Obsidian memory galaxy.
  • Rebuild and comment: You can click rebuild to have agents try again or leave comments on the built output.

03How to Set Up the Idea Foundry

  1. Get the Agent Operating System from the AI Profitable Boarding community inside aiprofitboarding.com.
  2. Download the zip file that contains the full system, including the Idea Foundry prompts and Obsidian vault setup.
  3. Install Obsidian on your computer and connect it to the memory galaxy system.
  4. Follow the 30-day roadmap included with the system to implement the Agent Operating System step by step.
  5. Set up your preferred models — you can use local models, free APIs, or paid ones like Claude or OpenAI.
  6. Open the pipeline tab in the dashboard. That's where you'll drop ideas and watch them move through the pipeline.

04How to Use the Idea Foundry Step by Step

Julian demonstrates the entire workflow in the episode. He opens the pipeline tab and types an idea like "SEO calculator" into the capture bar. Then he clicks "shape it".

Within about 15 seconds, the agents classify the idea and slide it into the human gate section.

Inside the human gate, Julian clicks on the project to see the full plan: the idea, classification, proposed plan, approach, first milestones, and which sub-agent will build it. He can approve or reject right there. After approving, the project moves to the implement section.

Sub-agents build the deliverable in the background. When it's done, Julian previews it in the dashboard — full screen or in a new tab. He can also comment or click rebuild if he wants the agents to try again.

05Results and Comparisons Shown in the Episode

Julian shows five real builds from five simple idea sentences. One example is an SEO calculator tool that was built and previewed in the dashboard. Another is a to-do list app that moved through the pipeline and was ready to build.

A meditation timer app was in the human gate when he recorded the episode.

He compares the old way vs. the new way. The old way: you write an idea in a notes app, mean to research it, stare at a blank doc, close it, forget it, or pay a freelancer who takes two weeks. The new way: you drop an idea, agents classify and plan, you approve once, sub-agents build it, and it ships running in your dashboard.

Julian also mentions that running the system uses tokens, but if you set it up with a local model or free API, token costs are not a concern.

06Tips, Limits, and Mistakes to Avoid

  • Use local or free models to keep token costs low. Models change fast — what was paid yesterday may be free today.
  • Don't install too many external skills. Julian warns that external skills caused problems in the past, so he plays it safe.
  • One human gate is enough. You don't need to micromanage every step. Let the agents plan and build; you just approve or reject.
  • Ideas don't need perfect structure. Drop them messy. The agents will classify and route them automatically.
  • Everything saves to Obsidian as plain markdown. You own your data and can search it later.
  • Be careful with external repos. When asked about installing skills from GitHub, Julian says it could be useful but you need to watch what you install.

07Who Is the Hermes Idea Foundry For?

The Idea Foundry is for anyone who has ideas but never gets around to building them. Julian says in the old days he had loads of ideas, but every one hit the same wall: he'd write it down, nothing would happen, and there was no time to research, plan, or build. By the time he came back, he'd forgotten why the idea mattered.

He shows examples of non-coders using the system. Nick is crushing it. Ethan, 61 years old and not a coder, has the Agent Operating System set up with eight agents, voice, and Obsidian installed.

Julian says if Ethan can do it, anyone can. The system runs on local models, so you don't need expensive API keys. If you want to skip the setup work, you can get the full zip file, prompts, and coaching calls inside the AI Profitable Boarding community.

08Why the Idea Foundry Matters

Most ideas never get built. The Idea Foundry solves that by removing every barrier between the idea and the finished product. You drop an idea in one line, and agents handle the classification, planning, and building.

You only make one decision per idea: approve or reject. This means ideas ship in the same day, not weeks later.

Julian also ties the Idea Foundry to the larger Agent Operating System, which includes Hermes Jarvis for voice control, goal mode, workspace MCPs, and mission control. Every new piece he builds makes the whole system more powerful. The Idea Foundry is updated daily, and members get access to the latest version inside the community.
