How to Run Kimi K3 for FREE!

Today, I'm going to show you how to use Kimi K3, the most powerful open source model ever, for free. So to do this, what you're going to do is you're going to go to kimi.com. I'm going to sign out of my main account just to show you that it is free. So we'll just go to a new incognito over here.

Then if you try to use it, it's going to ask you to sign in. So just sign in. Now we're going to sign in on a free account, as you can see right now. And in the default dropdown, it's going to show you K2.6.

What you want to do from here is switch over to K3 Swarm or K3. Now you are on a limited amount of tokens that you can use when you're coding for free with K3. So what I'd actually recommend is you switch to this instead. And then from there, we can start coding.

Now, if you use, for example, the K3 Swarm, you probably won't have enough tokens to use it for free. So you're better off just switching to this one and also keep the context window as standard, not extra long. You can actually only use that on the premium plan. So this is how you can use it free.

You can also switch between thinking effort. So standard, high, and max. Obviously, max consumes more tokens. And then from here, if we say, okay, build a website for an SEO agency, just as a random example.

So this is how you can start using K3 for free. If you want faster replies, I'd actually recommend just using K2.6 because it's decent enough for instant responses. It doesn't require a lot of thought. But obviously, if you're building something, then you're gonna use K3.

Now, if you're wondering, okay, how does it perform? What can it build, et cetera? Let me show you what we achieved with the API. So we were testing out the API.

It did very well on GoldieBench. And it can create some amazing stuff, as you can see right here. So if we take a look at this, you can see here, it can build some awesome games. It can create 3D stuff, beautiful 3D worlds.

It can even, for example, create videos for you if you teach it the skill of ReMotion. Here's an example of a video that it actually generated using a combination of ReMotion and KimiK. Also, bear in mind as well that during peak times on a free account, they might just pause the amount that you can use. So if you use it like off-peak hours, you're gonna get access to more tokens for free on KimiK3 via Kimi.com.

It's also gonna be open source from July the 2026. However, if you're thinking, it's open source, I can host it locally, you'd have to have a very, very good setup for that. Like just on your basic computer, you're not gonna be able to run this open source. However, the fact that you can use KimiK3 for free and it's Fable 5 level.

In fact, on a lot of my personal tests via GoldieBench, they actually out Fable 5 and Opus, sorry, GPT 5.6. It is better than Opus 4.8. And the fact that you can get it for free is pretty amazing in itself. So thanks so much for watching.
