Microsoft and NVIDIA's new AI updates just made AI agents unstoppable. Here's what happened this week. A company called Corvus Energy runs battery systems on more than 1,500 ships sailing around the world right now. Giant cargo ships, maritime vessels crossing oceans.

Not until very recently, humans had to manually inspect those battery systems. People with clipboards, reviewing data, checking things, filing reports. That job is now gone. Not because someone got fired, but because Corvus Energy just deployed AI agents through Microsoft's platform that does all of it automatically.

The agents reason through the data. They spot the problems. They generate the intelligence. Andreas Hyundai, the VP of Global IT at Corvus Energy, said it straight.

He said the updated systems made their services and workflows faster, more capable, and easier to use. And then he said something that should stop you cold. He said they are now able to connect things that simply were not possible before. Things that were not possible before.

That is the line right there. That is the whole story. Because this week, Microsoft and NVIDIA, still on stage in San Jose, at NVIDIA's GTC 2026 conference, announced that they are combining their platforms into one unified system for building AI agents. And the reason it matters is not because of the tech.

The reason it matters is because of what it means for every single business on the planet that is still doing things the old way. So let me break this down for you from the ground up. Because I know a lot of you watching this are not coders, you're not software engineers. You run a business.

You have a company. You manage a team. You're a freelancer, maybe. Trying to stay relevant.

Or you're an agency. And right now, you're watching all of these announcements come out and you're thinking, what does this actually mean for me? And if you're asking that, good. That's exactly the right question.

By the end of this video, you're going to have the answer. Let's start at the very beginning. What even is an AI agent? Because that word gets thrown around a lot.

Think about a regular AI tool. You type something in, you get something back. You ask it a question, it gives an answer. Done.

Transaction complete. It doesn't remember what you said before. It does not go off and do things on its own. An AI agent is totally different.

An AI agent can think, plan, take steps, use tools, check his own work, keep going until it finishes the task. It does not need you to hold its hand through every single step. You tell it what you want done, it goes and it figures out how to do it. That's a big difference.

Imagine you told a new employee to handle customer complaints. You would not stand over their shoulder and tell them every single thing to do. You would say, here's a goal. Here's what you have to assess.

Go do it. And they would figure out. That's what an agent does. Now, for the last few years, building agents was hard.

Really hard. You needed a team of engineers. You needed a ton of infrastructure. You needed to figure out how to keep everything secure.

And you needed to figure out how to make sure the agent did not go rogue and do something it was not supposed to do. It was a mess. Most companies tried and gave up or they built something that worked in a demo but fell apart the moment real people used it. That is exactly what Microsoft and NVIDIA just changed.

Let me tell you what Microsoft Foundry is. Because this is the thing that's going to make agents real for every company in the world. Microsoft Foundry is an operating system for AI agents. Not like the operating system on your laptop, but in the sense that this is the layer that makes everything work together.

It's a platform where you build your agent, test your agent, deploy your agent, watch your agent, control your agent, and keep your agent safe all in one place. And this week at GCC 2026, Microsoft announced that the Foundry agent service is now generally available. And that means it's not a beta, it's not a preview, it's not a thing that might work if you're lucky. It is production ready.

It is live. It is open for business. And they combined it with NVIDIA's AI models and chips to make it faster, smarter, and more powerful than anything that has existed before. Now here's why that combo is such a big deal.

Microsoft has a software layer, they have Azure, which is one of the biggest cloud computing platforms in the world. They have the security, the compliance, the governance tools the big companies need before they will let an AI agent touch anything important. They have the trust layer, they have the enterprise and relationships. Over 80% of the Fortune 500 is already deploying active agents built with Microsoft's tools.

80%. That's not a niche thing, that's pretty mainstream. NVIDIA has a hardware layer. So they make the chips that run AI, the GPUs, the computer power.

And Justin Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, said this week that computing demand has increased by one million times over just a few years. One million times. And they just turned on the next generation of the most powerful chips inside Microsoft's data centers. Microsoft was the first hyperscale cloud in the world to power on NVIDIA's brand new Vera Rubin MVL72 systems.

And in less than one year, Microsoft deployed thousands and hundreds of thousands of liquid cooled Grace Blackwell CPUs and GPUs across their global data centers. So you have Microsoft bringing the software, the security, the platform that businesses already use and trust. And you have NVIDIA bringing the raw computing muscle to run agents faster, cheaper and at massive scale. If you put them together, you have something that did not exist before this week, a single unified production ready platform where any company can build AI agents that actually work in the real world.

Not in a lab, not in a demo, in production right now today. And I want to go a little deeper here because I think most people are missing the significance of one specific thing that was announced. It was called NVIDIA Nemetron 3 and it's now available directly inside Microsoft Foundry. Here's what Nemetron 3 is, it's a family of open AI models built by NVIDIA specifically for agents, not for chatbots, not for answering questions for agents.

For systems that need to reason through complex problems, take multiple steps, use tools and complete tasks without stopping to ask for help every five seconds. The Nemetron 3 Nano version delivers four times higher throughput than its predecessor. Throughput just means how much work it can do per second, four times more. And according to Salesforce's own benchmark for customer relationship AI, Nemetron 3 Nano is the most cost efficient model for doing summaries and generating content at scale.

Salesforce, one of the biggest enterprise software companies in the world, they tested it, they ranked it number one for cost efficiency. And now that model is available inside Microsoft Foundry, so any company using Azure can just put it in and start building. There's also Nemetron 3 Super, which is designed for harder tasks, longer reasoning, more complex workflows, multi-step problems where the agent needs to think deeply before acting. And Microsoft says the full lineup, including the Ultra version for the most demanding enterprise tasks, is coming this year.

But here's what I really want to focus on, because this is the thing that changes everything for people who are not technical. Microsoft announced that voice is now coming to agents through Foundry. Think about what that means. Right now, if you use an agent, you mostly type at it, or it works in the background doing things without you seeing it.

But voice changes the game completely, it means your agent can talk to you, it can answer the phone, it can handle customer service calls, it can do verbal check-ins, it can take voice instructions and just go to work. Corvus Energy is already doing something like this, managing intelligence across 1500 chips without human inspectors. But now, imagine that same kind of agent that can also pick up the phone, talk to a customer, answer their question, and resolve the issue without a human being involved at all. It's not science fiction, it's in public preview right now on Microsoft Foundry.

I want to zoom out now and explain what this means for business, because I think this is where a lot of people get lost, they hear about the technology and they think, OK, cool, maybe someday this will impact me. But I want to be clear with you, this is already affecting your industry right now. Microsoft's own data shows that 80% of the Fortune 500 is deploying active agents today, and agents are being used across manufacturing, which is 13% of all agent usage globally. Financial services is 11%, retail is 9%, and the trend line is straight up.

By 2026, analysts are projecting that 40% of enterprise applications will include task-specific AI agents. By 2028, projections say half of day-to-day work decisions will be made autonomously, not helped made autonomously. And I get it, when you hear numbers like that, it can feel very overwhelming. You might be sitting there thinking, OK, but my job is different.

My work is too complicated for an AI to do. What I do requires real judgment and experience in relationships. And here's what I would say to that. You're probably right that the full complexity of your job is hard to replace entirely.

But the parts of your job that are repetitive, data-heavy, that involve reviewing and reporting and inspecting and summarizing and routing, those parts are exactly what agents are built for. And if those parts take up like 40% of your day, and agents start doing them, then either you level up and do something more valuable over that time, or someone else does. And that's not me being harsh, that's just what's happening right now. And the companies that are figuring this out right now are the ones that are going to win.

Not the companies that wait and see. Here's a concrete example to make this real for you. Think about a financial services company. They have compliance teams to review transactions, right?

They have people who look at all that data all day and flag things that look wrong. They have analysts that have, you know, for example, that are paid to write reports. That work is slow, it's expensive. It's often done by highly paid people doing things that are not actually that hard.

They just require a lot of careful attention. Now, imagine that company deploys agents through Microsoft Foundry, powered by a Nemetron 3. The agents read the transactions, flag the anomalies, write the first draft of the report, route it to the right human for review, and the human just makes a final call. You just cut the time it takes to do that workflow by 60, 70, or even 80%, and you did not fire anyone.

You gave your team a superpower. This is the framing I keep coming back to, it's like the companies that win are not the ones that fire everyone and replace them with AI agents, they are the ones that take their best people and put agents underneath them so those people can operate at a whole different level. Now, let me talk about something important that most people are not paying attention to because this is actually the most important part of the whole announcement, security. Because here is the thing nobody wants to say out loud, AI agents are terrifying from a security standpoint if you do not know what you're doing.

An agent has access to your data, it can make decisions, it can take actions, it can connect to other systems, and if someone gets into that agent, or if the agent itself gets confused and does something wrong, the blast radius is enormous. We've seen that with OpenClaw, right, all sorts of crazy stuff happened. And this is why so many companies have been scared to deploy agents even though they want to, they just don't trust it, they don't know how to keep it safe, they don't know how to watch it. Microsoft's Alexander Stojanovic, who is the VP of Microsoft's Security Next AI team, said something this week that I think is the most important quote of the whole GCC conference.

He said, and I'm going to be careful about how I say this, that Microsoft has been working with NVIDIA on a security system called OpenShell, and early results are showing a 160 times improvement in finding and stopping AI-based attacks, 160 times. That isn't a small upgrade, that is not incrementally better, that is a completely different level of protection. This matters because the number one reason companies are not deploying agents is not that agents can't do the work, it's they're scared of what happens when something goes wrong, they're scared of data leaks, etc. What Microsoft and NVIDIA just shipped is essentially the answer to that fear, a governance layer, a security layer, a way to watch your agents control what they can do, set rules for how they operate and catch problems before they become disasters.

The Foundry control plane gives you full visibility into what every agent is doing, every step, every decision, every action. You can see it all, you can trace it, you can debug it, you can catch it when it does something wrong. That's the missing point and the missing piece that's been holding enterprise AI adoption back for two years, and now it's live. Okay, let me bring this home because I think there's a bigger picture here that deserves to be said clearly. What Microsoft and NVIDIA did this week isn't a product launch, it's infrastructure. It's like when they built the highway system. The highways did not drive the trucks, but without the highways, the trucks couldn't move.

Without the highways, you couldn't build a distribution network. Without the highways, the economy could not function at the scale it needed to. Microsoft foundries basically the highway and NVIDIA's chips are the engine. The agents are the trucks and the businesses that learn how to drive those trucks, how to load them, how to route them, how to run a fleet of them.

Those are the businesses that are going to win the next 10 years. Here's what I keep coming back to. This is not just for big companies. This is the most important part.

Big companies are getting access to this stuff first because they have the budgets and the engineering teams to do it. But the gap between big company AI and small business AI is closing faster than anyone expected. A year ago, building an agent that could do anything useful cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and months of engineering work. Today, a small business owner with the right knowledge and the right tools can build something genuinely powerful, whether that's with OpenCore or Microsoft Foundry or Manus or whatever.

And the models that are now available inside it are available for a tiny fraction of that cost. That's the window right now. That's the opportunity. The person who figures out how to deploy agents inside their business before their competitors do, is going to have an enormous advantage.

Not because they're smarter, but because they moved first. And moving first matters more in AI than in almost any other technology I've seen. Because once a business builds agents into their core workflows, once those agents start learning the improvement and becoming part of how everything runs, catching up becomes very hard. Let me give you a few examples of how this works, right?

Think about a legal firm. Right now, they pay junior associates like hundreds of dollars an hour to read documents, do research and draft first versions of filings. That work can now be done by an agent faster for a fraction of the cost. The senior partners do not go away.

The judgment, the relationships, the courtroom presence, that will stay human. But the grunt work, the stuff that junior associates spend 60% of their time on, well that's agent territory now. Think about a marketing agency. Right now they have teams of people doing copy, doing research, analysing campaign performance, generating reports.

All of that can be agenticised. The creative direction, the client relationships, the big ideas, that stays human. But the execution layer, the reporting layer, the first draft layer, it's all gone. Think about a healthcare company doing patient follow-up.

Right now they have staff calling patients after appointments to check in, answer questions, schedule follow-ups. An agent can do that. And it can do it at three in the morning when the patient is awake and worried, not just during business hours when a human happens to be at their desk. This isn't speculative.

Companies are doing all these things right now, using exactly the stack that Microsoft and Nvidia just made accessible this week. And the trajectory here is clear. Jensen Huang's Nvidia CEO, right? And he said at GTC that computing demand has increased by one million times over the last few years.

Think about what that means. One million times more compute. And costs are coming down at the same time capacity is going up. That means the things that only big companies could afford six months ago are already getting cheaper.

And six months from now, they will be cheaper still. The question is not whether AI agents are going to change, it's already decided. The question is whether you're going to be someone who understands this shift and knows how to use it, or somebody who wakes up in two years and has to scramble to catch up. I talk to people every single week who are in that second category, they know something big is happening.

They see the news, they watch videos like this, but they have not actually taken a step forward. They are in observation mode. And I get it. It's a lot to process, changes fast.

It feels overwhelming, but the window is open right now. The platform's alive. The tools are accessible. The cost to start is lower than it's ever been.

So here's what I want you to do, not someday, right now. If you run a business, pick one workflow. One thing in your company that's repetitive, that involves reviewing or summarizing, just one, start asking the question, could an agent do this? If you work inside a company, figure out what your company is doing with AI agents.

Are they using Microsoft tools, are they on Azure, are they using OpenClaw, are they experimenting with this stuff? And if they are, get close to it, volunteer to be involved. Because the person who understands it, who helps people with it, is going to become more valuable. And the people who resist it are going to be in a very difficult spot.
