NEW Grok 4.5 DESTROYS Opus?

Grok 4.5 has been announced now this is a brand new update coming from Grok and it's based on a 1.5 trillion v9 foundation model you see the announcement from Elon Musk right here with cursor data bear in mind that cursor have just been acquired by Grok and that adds in additional data for supplemental training and it's now in private beta at SpaceX and Tesla which means that it should be dropping soon I'll be talking about pipelines in a second if you're wondering okay how does this look we're looking at early evaluations showing performance close to perhaps exceeding Opus 4.8 now something to bear in mind here it's only been recently and I've done another tutorial on this that I've been impressed by Grok so previous announcements didn't really excite me but at this point when I've tested Grok and I'll show you what we've built with it actually inside our agent operating system it created some awesome stuff so if this is a step up and if you can use it with your existing Twitter subscription wow plus bear in mind like with Opus you can't even use OAuth inside Hermes or your AI agents what that means essentially is that if you're building with this stuff well good luck mate because if you're building with Claude Opus you have to use the API inside your AI agents and that's that gets expensive whereas for example if you can build with Grok using your AI agents like Hermes or OpenClaw using the OAuth and your existing Twitter subscription that you know for me personally wouldn't cost me an extra money that is fantastic so it's going to be exciting to see where we go with this let me show you some other stuff that we built with this as well it's a pretty good pretty powerful model I mean we built all of this using Grok build and you know this is a full open world game that are basically mocked up and if we actually check out Goldie Bench Grok build was way up there and I say that not to like get overhyped or over excited but if we look at some of the stuff we built with it it's pretty good it's pretty good so having said that where are we up to with Grok 4.5 so it's in early beta and we'll talk about timelines I've actually seen some recent timeline drops and how that compares to when the announcements come out so typically when this is announced in beta there's a typical timeline related to that which is when it will drop to the public and we'll talk about that in a second so what you can see here is that Elon has clarified to be clear I'm not saying the Grok v9 foundation model will be mind-blowingly better than anything but it will be a solid workhorse in the same league as Opus and again like if you're already subscribed to Twitter well you don't need to pay an extra if you are using API well the great thing about this is you can use a wolf inside Hermes instead of having to pay for Claude Opus API so it's pretty powerful in that way and bear in mind like it is getting dramatically better it is improving all the time from what I've seen from Grok build so I'm excited to see what this is now some people are going to say it's the Opus killer and there's a big cap between some of the hype here so just be careful of that too so some people have said you know this is going to take over Opus uh Polymarket gives it a 42% chance of its release in July by the way so if you're wondering when the timelines are that's one estimation make your own mind up you know believe what you want that sounds about right to me to be fair but the fact that Grok 4.5 is already trained and actively being used by his own companies is a pretty good sign and if you're wondering okay when do the normal sort of things come out this is a typical timeline of the announcements so if you look recently at the previous stuff you've got for example Grok 4.3, Grok 4.4 late May so there was quite a long gap between those two and then you got Grok 4.5 v9 and then we've got the Grok 5 target which apparently according to some rumors is going to be a 10 trillion model which is pretty insane I mean I don't know if anyone saw like the announcements about le chaton fat but that kind of sounds in that category so again be skeptical with this stuff make your own mind up the main thing that I would say is like this is exciting I'm excited to see what happens next it should be a pretty good model to be fair and it's only getting better and if it overtakes something like Opus 4.8 that wouldn't surprise me because you know if you look at the way Anthropic are going like they're just getting gated they they literally can't release better models because they're getting gated by the US government the same with for example GPT 5.5 and 5.6 like 5.6 is only in preview there's no confirmed release date it may never get released the same with Fable 5 so just be aware of that as well it's like you know Grok 4.5 seems to be moving a lot faster and if there's a sort of blocker between what Anthropic and GPT can release then they're all going to kind of meet in the middle somewhere aren't they because they can't progress they can't release models better to the public than what they've currently got in terms of frontier models so pretty exciting stuff either way and the thing that I would say about all of this is like if you read the announcement something that stands out right is that this is in private beta so you don't get to use it yet now what I would say here is recently when I've been building stuff out and I saw this with Grok build inside the AgentOS I saw this with Hermes mixture of agents which is one of the best systems I've seen to beat not just match but beat whatever you have out there it can create better outputs than whatever is out there currently I can tell you that because I've tested it on GoldieBench and I've compared 42 things side by side and that is Hermes mixture of agents and fusion these two models beat Opus 4.8 by quite a long way so my point here is like I've not really been excited about models for a long time what I'm really excited about is systems because if you have a system you know Fable 5 comes and goes GPT 5.6 doesn't even come Grok 4.5 is in beta you don't get to touch any of this stuff so what's the point of getting too excited about it when you can work on something way more practical day-to-day which is building out the systems that you want to use right and I think that's way more exciting because you can control that you can change that you can mold it however you want you can make everything that you can see right here exactly how you want so yes Grok 4.5 is coming out GPT 5.6 it's exciting times but if it gets gated again no problem I don't even care because at this point we've got a memory system that belongs to us right we have an agent operating system where we have workflows that belong to us we have systems inside there that can already beat what's already out there so if something else better comes along great but if it doesn't no problem because we've already got better options inside our systems and that's the way that I would look at it for you too don't worry about the models focus on the systems and you know if you look at the three best models right now they're all locked away you know if you step back from Grok for a second you look at the last three weeks the three most powerful models on the planet right now you can't really use a single one of them right Grok 4.5 in beta lock GPT 5.6 gated Fable 5 port they're all in this theoretical preview mode that you can't get to access and you're kind of looking from the outside so the way that I recommend it instead is that you don't care what comes out next you focus on the system and that's always open that's always yours every top model gets locked away within days these times right so the system you own never actually does and that's the way that I would look at it I mean we've been testing more and more we're actually building out something else called a local benchmark for GoldieBench and we can test and compare models see how they perform and we're beginning to build that out and that's getting even more interesting too because local models they're not quite frontier level right 6.4 out of 10 but they're getting better and better and they're improving all the time so who knows where they're going to be in like a few months as well and again like if a local model can't get pulled so once you install it once it's open it's out there which is pretty cool as well now if you're wondering okay Grok timeline teases I promised I would touch on this earlier so Melia AI they were talking about the narrative window which is they expect that Grok 4.5 will be released in two weeks so the reason for this is like typically if you look at the teasers like Grok 4 it was teased on June the 27th 2025 and then Grok 4 was launched on July the 9th right within two weeks Grok 4.1 released uh sorry teased on November the 1st released by November the 17th Grok 4.5 could follow the same pattern so if you're wondering okay what are the realistic timelines well that's basically it and the thing that I would say is like I used to chase every model now I don't care which one wins I don't care you know what happens next because I'm focused more on the systems instead we want a model proof system which is what we've built with the AgentOS right it's a pretty insane system where for example we've got a voice activated version of Hermes here we actually built in Grok over here with image video and we can switch between Grok and minimax from there we also have this system with Hermes Oracle so we can pull in the latest news from Twitter and then organize it by which one's the most viral and from there we can see what's trending right now so never have to search the news or try and stay updated I've got the headlines that are actually useful right here inside this place so the thing that I would say is like you don't need Grok 4.5 you need a system and that's quite liberating in a way as well because you know if Grok 4.5 is locked away to SpaceX and Tesla for two weeks you don't need it right the models you can run today they're already good enough for you to do and automate pretty much everything inside your business so this is the way that I'm looking at it and if you want to get our agent operating system the system not the model the whole news cycle is about you know who gets which model I wouldn't buy into that narrative right I think if you're watching this you're probably not easily swayed hopefully by this sort of stuff but if you are don't worry about the models don't worry about the narratives don't worry about Grok 4.5 or Fable 5 or GPC 5.6 the agent operating system and building a good system is the right answer because you get one operating system that runs or whatever model is actually out today and that's the most important part so you can plug in any model you can use the agent Kanban you've got every CLI
