The script recounts how Anthropic’s private security-focused model Mythos and its public, guardrailed version Fable 5 were taken offline worldwide after the Trump administration ordered Anthropic to block all foreign nationals—including non-citizen staff—from using them, with one report saying the shutdown happened within 90 minutes. It describes a weekend escalation beginning with Fable 5’s public launch, an Amazon-discovered jailbreak reported by CEO Andy Jassy, and a White House “fix it or pull it” demand using export-control-style rules typically reserved for weapons. Reporting from Semaphore suggests unconfirmed White House concerns that a China-linked group may have accessed Mythos, raising fears of “distillation” to copy capabilities. The narrator frames this as evidence AI is now treated like critical power infrastructure and urges business owners to adopt practical, publicly available AI tools, promoting the AI Profit Boardroom.

China may have gotten its hands on the most powerful AR model in the world, and the White House shut the whole thing down in 90 minutes. But here's what we know for sure. Anthropic mates clawed that C-AI a lot of people use every single day. But they also built something else, which is a model called Miphos.
And Miphos was never for the public. It was so good at finding holes in computer code that Anthropic kept it locked away. Only a few trusted companies got to use it. Then on Friday, the U.S.
government stepped in. The Trump administration told Anthropic to block all foreign nationals from using Miphos and its public version called Fable 5. Not just people in China, everyone outside the U.S., even Anthropic's own staff who aren't American citizens. And Anthropic's response was they pulled both models off the market immediately worldwide.
One report actually says they shut it all down within 90 minutes of the order. And now we know part of why, apparently. So according to Semaphore, the White House acted partly over fears that a group linked to China had already accessed Miphos. That part is not confirmed.
The White House hasn't said out loud. Anthropic says the government never even brought up China in their talks. But the reporting is out there and it's serious enough that nobody's denying the core of it. So here's how the weekend unfolded from a public launch to a worldwide shutdown in days than 90 minutes.
So Fable 5 goes public earlier this week. Anthropic releases Fable 5, the guardrailed version of Miphos. Amazon actually finds a jailbreak. So researchers find a way around the guardrails.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy actually flags it to the government. The order was fix it or pull it from the White House. So the White House reached for expert controls. The rules normally used for weapons and military tech.
Then on Friday, they block every foreign national. The order was cut off everyone outside the U.S. from Miphos and Fable 5, even non-citizen staff. 90 minutes after that, both models go dark worldwide.
So Anthropic pulls Miphos and Fable 5 off the market completely across the entire planet. And then this weekend, engineers actually flew to Washington, senior staff to DC for emergency meetings. And the standoff is still live, my friends. So let me explain why this matters for you, even if you've never touched AI in your life.
Most AI you use is built to help write an email, make a plan, summarize a document. But Miphos was different. It was built to find weak spots in software, the kind of weak spots hackers look for. So Anthropic said themselves, this model is dangerous if the wrong people get it.
Now picture it all, that good, sitting in the hands of a foreign government. That's a fit. Not that China copied a chatbot, that China might copy a master. So here's the trick that makes it scary.
There's a method called distillation in plain English. You don't need to steal the actual model. You just need to talk to it enough. So for example, some Chinese companies in the past have been accused by Anthropic of asking it thousands of questions, watching how it answers.
And then you can train a smaller AI model to copy those answers. Like watching a chess grandmaster play a thousand games and slowly learning to play like them. You never see inside the head. You just copy what they do.
So how do you copy a model without stealing it? Well, this is distillation. So you never see inside, but you can basically ask thousands of questions. You watch every answer.
And then the copycat that you train leapfrogs years overnight. That's one potential. So if China had real access to Miphos even for a short time, distillation means potentially they could build a copycat and that copycat could leapfrog years of work overnight. Now, was it actually a breach?
It's not confirmed. This is linked to concerns. According to Semaphore, this is the article originally, we don't know. But what we do know is the government moved fast enough that smart people took it seriously.
Now here's how this all started. So let's back up to this. So earlier this week, Anthropic released a fable that's a version of Miphos without guardrails. They built it so people can use it for hacking.
And the guardrails were the whole point. Then researchers at Amazon found a way around them, which is a jailbreak. And so that's kind of just a way to trick an AI into ignoring its rules. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy reported it.
The White House told Anthropic to fix it or pull the model. According to Trump advisor, David Sachs, Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodi said the jailbreak wasn't serious and refused to fix it. Apparently. And Anthropic pushed back hard on that.
They said the jailbreak was narrow, not a big deal, and that you could get the same result in other public models like OpenAI's GPT 5.5. So you've got this standoff. One side said it's dangerous. The other said it's overblown.
And in the middle, government used export controls, the same kind of rules normally used for weapons and military tech on an AI model. And that's never happened to a public model before. Here's why I'm spending your time on this, because there's a lesson buried in this mess. It's not the obvious one.
And I'll get to the boring stuff people argue about. But first, the thing almost nobody's saying out loud is that the old way of thinking about AI was simple. AI is a toy, a fun chatbot, something for students and writers. The new reality is the US government just treated an AI model like a nuclear secret.
They pulled it offline across the entire planet. They flew the company's top engineers to Washington over a weekend to clean it up. So that tells you exactly where this is heading. AI isn't a toy anymore.
It's infrastructure, it's power. Governments fight over it now, which is pretty wild when you think about that. So if the government is fighting over who controls this stuff, then where does that leave you? The regular business owner, the freelancer, the person running a small shop or an agency.
Most people are still sitting on the sidelines. They think AI is too complicated, too technical, something for tech companies in San Francisco. They're waiting for it to settle down before they bother learning it. But the thing they're waiting for isn't coming.
It doesn't settle down, it speeds up. I've worked with over 3,600 business owners inside the AI Profit Boarding. A lot of them have never used AI at all before they joined, not even once. And the ones who jumped in early aren't smarter than everyone else.
You just stop waiting. They learn to use these tools to get more done, find more customers, free up their own time. And most everyone else was still asking if AI was a fad. And that's the real story under this headline.
It's not about It's not really about China, it's about the gap. The gap between people who use this stuff and people who keep putting it off. So if you've been watching all the news from a distance, feeling like it's moving too fast, you already missed the boat. I want to show you something different inside the AI Profit Boarding.
We don't cover this crazy drama. We cover the practical stuff. We build agent operating systems like you can see right here. And we actually created a new build inside here just yesterday using Fusion.
Now Fusion can achieve fable level intelligence using OpenRoot's new API, but without using Fable. It actually uses cheaper models, which is pretty wild. We built some absolutely amazing stuff using this system right here. So if you've never used this, or you never got access to Fable 5, or you want something just as powerful but actually open to the public, then you can see the sort of stuff we've built with this.
And it was a lot of fun, but also you can use it for your business. You can use it to automate stuff. If you want that, it's all inside the AI Profit Boarding. Link in the comments description or go to the account.
Now back to the story and let's clear up the confusion here because there are three different things going on and people keep mixing them up. So number one, the jailbreak. That's confirmed. Amazon found a way around Fable's guardrails.
That part is real. Thing number two, the standoff over fixing it. Saks says Amodi refused to fix it. Anthropic says it wasn't a real risk.
Pick your side, but know it's a dispute, not a settled fact. And thing number three is the Chinese access. So you can see this post by Chubby here, and this is a big one. It's the least confirmed.
It comes from one report citing a person familiar with the matter. The White House hasn't said it. Anthropic says it never came up. So when you hear China stole the AI, it's not proven.
It's a fear that helped drive a decision, which is a big difference in itself. Now you can see how we've rated this whole sit-up. So for example, the jailbreak is confirmed. The standoff is disputed, but the Chinese access unconfirmed, but it's pretty wild.
Here's what's not shaky though. The first time this happened. This isn't even the first Mythos breach. Back when Anthropic first kept Mythos locked away, a group on Discord repeatedly got access to it for two weeks before Anthropic even noticed.
For two weeks. With a model the company called too dangerous for the public. So the pattern is clear here. Anthropic built something powerful, says it's locked down tight, and then it leaks anywhere.
And that's the part that should make you think, because these are the experts. The safety first company. The grown-ups in the room as people like to call them. And they keep having things slip up.
And now look at what's happening this very weekend. You know Anthropic flew senior technical staff to Washington. They've been in meetings with White House officials trying to fix this. The government says Anthropic hasn't taken it seriously enough.
Anthropic says they're engaging. Both sides want it resolved. And this is live, and this is happening right now as you watch it. So whilst all this stuff plays out at the top, your competitors are quietly getting better at AI.
Not the dangerous stuff. The useful stuff. The everyday tools. They're out in the open and totally safe to use.
And that's the gap again. Whilst the headlines scream about national security, regular AI just keeps getting more powerful and easier to use. Anyone can pick it up. You don't need permission.
You don't need to be a coder. Let me give you an example of what I mean. We've built out this full agent operating system using AI. It's absolutely amazing.
We can automate basically anything. We've got Jarvis voice activated AI agent right here. We have Kimi code ready to go. We've built some absolutely insane stuff with Fable level intelligence without having to use Fable 5.
And so that's my point here. And here's a belief that I want to break before we finish. A lot of people think they need to wait until they understand all this before they start. They want the dust to settle on all this.
I want someone to tell them which model is safe and which one's banned and what it all means. But you don't need to follow the myth or drama to use AI in your business. Those are two different worlds. One is locked away in a fight between a company and the government.
The other is sitting on your phone right now just waiting for you to use it. And the people winning the next year aren't the ones who understand AI policy. They're the ones who actually use these tools every single day to save time and money. So here's where this leaves you.
The biggest, most powerful AI in the world just got yanked offline by the US government. That's a reminder of how serious this technology has become. But the version you can actually use is still right there. Cheaper and better every month.
And the question isn't whether AI is powerful. The government just answered that for you. The question is whether you're going to use a part that you're allowed to use or keep watching from the sidelines whilst other people in your space pull ahead. And if you want to stop watching and start doing, this is exactly what we focus on inside the AI profitable world.
Not the headlines, the hands-on work. We show you which tools to use today. Walk you through setting them up on live calls and give you a 30-day plan to build simple AI systems to bring in customers for your business. Plenty of our members started off knowing nothing about AI and now run real parts of their work on autopilot.
So if you want that kind of step-to-step help, the link's in the comments description or head to the aipowerfulboredom.com to get access. The big models will keep making news. Some will get banned. Some will leak.
That's the world we're in right now. But none of this stops you from getting better at AI today. So start small. Pick the one task you hate.
Hand it to NAI this week. And that's how every single one of those 3,600 business owners in the AI profitable world started. Thanks for watching.
