01What Hermes AI Agent OS Is and How It Works
Hermes AI Agent OS is an agent operating system that gives every AI agent you use one shared brain, one screen, and one memory that never forgets you. Instead of having Claude open in one tab, ChatGPT in another, and notes scattered everywhere, you get a single dashboard where every agent reads from the same Obsidian vault.
The core idea is called the one screen AI team. Every agent, whether it is Hermes, Claude Code, or OpenClaw, sits on the same dashboard and reads from the same memory. You stop visiting your AI and you give it a desk.
Once your AI has a desk, it remembers you. It knows your business. It works while you sleep.
When a new model drops, you plug it in like a new chip in two clicks. The office is no longer a mess.
02Main Features Inside the Agent Operating System
When you open the agent OS, you land on mission control. This home screen shows every agent, whether it is online, what it is working on, and a live activity stream of everything happening across the setup.
- Chat with Hermes – type in responses and everything gets saved to the vault automatically.
- Hermes Apollo – the voice side. You can talk out loud like a phone call with your assistant.
- Hermes Oracle – watches your competitors on a schedule and reports back what they are doing.
- Hermes Astros – monitors keywords in your industry and hands you content ideas.
- Kanban board – turn prompts into tickets. File one before lunch and drafts are waiting when you get back.
- Goal mode – type one big goal and Hermes loops on it autonomously for hours.
There is also a music generator, a video agent, an SEO content system, and AI avatars. You can hide anything you do not use with one click.
03How to Set Up Hermes AI Agent OS in 30 Minutes
Many people think this looks technical and they cannot set it up. Julian says that belief is wrong. The whole thing installs from a zip file.
You do not need a GitHub account, a cloud account, or anything scary.
- Download the Hermes agent OS zip file from the aircraft or build it yourself.
- Copy one folder onto your computer.
- Run one install command.
- Open a web page to see the dashboard.
- Add agents one at a time, only the ones you actually want.
- Connect your Obsidian vault so every agent shares the same memory.
- Optionally set up Tailscale, a free tool, to access the dashboard from anywhere in the world.
The whole setup on a new device took Julian about 30 minutes. It is the single biggest time saver in the entire system.
04How to Use Goal Mode and Scheduled Jobs
Goal mode is the most powerful part of the system. You type in one goal, something that would normally take a whole day, and then you walk away. Hermes will loop on that goal autonomously for hours.
It can plan, it can work, it can keep going. You do not need to click anything.
For example, if you have a big project you keep putting off because it needs a full day of focus, you can type it in at night and wake up to progress. One goal in and hours of work out with zero touches in between.
The system also runs on cron jobs, which are tasks that run on a timer automatically. Oracle checks your competitors every few hours on its own. Astros does the same with industry keywords.
You can create scheduled jobs from the managed job tab too. If you want a weekly report on something, you set it once and it runs forever.
05Results, Comparisons, and Model Swapping
Julian compares the old way and the new way side by side. The old way is five tabs, five logins, and zero shared memory. You explain your business in every window.
Nothing runs unless you are sitting there clicking. The new way is one screen where you speak, type, or file a ticket. The same employee answers every time because it reads the Obsidian vault.
New AI models drop constantly. With the old setup, every new model meant a new website, login, subscription, and starting context from scratch. With the agent OS, a new model is just a chip you slot into the desk.
LFM 2.5 dropped and was plugged in the next day. MuseSpark 1.2 came out this week and was already plugged in. Quen 3.8 was plugged in too.
Two clicks in the managed tab and you are done.
Julian has thousands of sessions sitting in his vault. He did not create a single one, and none of them needed to re-explain his business.
06Tips, Limits, and Guardrails to Know
Hermes has guardrails built in. If the agent hits anything risky, like deleting a file or doing something it is not sure about, it stops and asks you first. Then it parks the task and comes back to it after you answer.
You get the speed of autonomy without handing over the keys blind.
On cost, Julian says it can be expensive if everything runs on frontier models. But you do not have to do that. You can use free local models like LFM 2.5 2B or omni router.
These run locally or with free APIs and cost nothing per message. LFM was actually trained on Hermes agent data, so it fits like a glove.
You do not need a monster computer. If your laptop can run a browser, it can run this. And you can hide any agent you do not use with one click.
The desk is yours to arrange.
07Who Hermes AI Agent OS Is For and Why It Matters
This system is for anyone who uses AI in their business and is tired of explaining themselves over and over. It is for content creators, shop owners, and solo operators who want AI to work while they sleep. Julian says the models keep getting better on their own.
The system around them is what decides whether AI saves you two hours a week or 20.
You can build the system yourself by wiring up the dashboard, connecting the vault, and installing agents one by one. Or you can get the full Hermes agent OS as a ready-to-go zip file from the aircraft, which has helped 3,800 businesses with this exact setup.
The hard part is no longer the AI. The models are brilliant. The hard part is the office around them.
Fix the office and the brilliant assistant finally gets to do brilliant work.
