Hermes Obsidian is Insane (FREE!) 🤯

Hermes plus obsidian is a powerful way to give a massive free upgrade to your whole Hermes agent set up. I'm going to show you how to give Hermes agent a permanent memory right now. For example, most people using Hermes, they start from scratch. They forget stuff.

It forgets your goals. It forgets everything you've done. So you end up re-explaining yourself over and over again. That actually stops today.

I'm going to show you how to wire Hermes into something called obsidian. And when you do Hermes will already know everything about you. Every single time you open it, your goals, your past assets, your business, all of it, all ready there, all ready to go. And there's one thing I'm going to show you later in this video that most people completely miss.

And it's the part that makes the system 10 times more powerful than using Hermes on its own. Stick with me to the end and I promise you Hermes is going to feel like a completely different tool. Let's get into it. I want to show you a faster and easier way to use Hermes.

As an example of this, this is to improve the context and memory. So for example, if we're using Hermes agent inside a system where you've got this set up, and I'll explain exactly what we've got set up in a second. You can see here, if I say, tell me what I did last month, it actually pieces it together. So you can see right here, and it knows exactly what we've done.

And it gives me a quick answer as well, right? Quite detailed too. Now, at the same time, if you look inside the terminal here, we've asked Hermes, what did I do last month? And you can see how number one, it hasn't replied to us.

It's already taken two and a half minutes to come back to us. It's still thinking about it, but number two, it doesn't give us a good answer and it doesn't really understand where to look or what to look for, et cetera. Right? And the reason for this is because inside here we don't have a powerful memory system.

Whereas for example, inside Hermes, we actually have something I like to call the infinite context engine, which is basically a setup with all of my notes, all of my memories, everything about me inside one system, all linked together beautifully with something called Obsidian. And this is a free powerful tool that you could use to make number one Hermes more personalized. Number two, it gives you better outputs. Number three, it uses less tokens because it can just retrieve from its memory very quickly instead of taking five minutes to reply like this.

And then number four, you save time, right? You're not reprompting Hermes every single day. And so this is the Goldie Hermes memory stack that I'm showing you today. But also one thing I would say is like Hermes can be used for free.

It's free and open source. Obsidian is also free to set up as well. And Hermes is the agent that can run your tasks. But Obsidian is where all of your notes, your goals, your past chats live.

So you can wire them together inside one system. And then Hermes already knows everything about you, your business, your goals, with one shared second brain. And the cool thing about this is you don't even have to update it yourself. I'll show you exactly how in a minute.

So quite often when you're using Claude or Hermes or OpenClaw, when you ask Hermes to do a job, it might have some rough notes, but it takes a lot more guidance. It doesn't have like the specifics on you. Whereas, for example, if we go into this Obsidian vault, like we see, number one, everything is linked together and tagged together and color coordinated into a neatly organized system. And then number two, it has very detailed notes about us, who we are, who's our team, everything else.

Right. It's way more detailed than anything that you would normally have inside Hermes, even if it is taking notes for you daily. And so inside Obsidian as your vault, you've got your notes, your goals, your client folders, your past chats, straight inside, whatever you plug it into. And also you don't just have to use this system inside Hermes.

It could be, for example, inside OpenClaw, inside Gemini, inside Anti-Gravity, et cetera. And so every job Hermes runs, starts with the full picture, already knows you, already knows what you tried last month, already knows your voice. And the part that makes people really level up with this system is like, you can ask it, okay, based on what I've been doing recently, what could I implement to save time? How could you set up a task today for me to implement and automate for me?

Right. And Hermes can give you that sort of personalized guide. So before, like you used to have to re-explain everything. Every time you open up AI, like for example, if you use ChatGPT, it has no idea what you did outside of ChatGPT.

Not that useful. And it only has like 20% of what you're actually doing. It doesn't have the full context. Then you can wire Hermes into your Obsidian vault instead.

And now if I open a Hermes task, it already knows everything. Not just that, but what I like to actually do is have a vault where I can see all of the outputs from previous tasks. And then that way, not only do I have the systems and the prompts and every goal and every note about me as well, but also the stuff that it creates it can use to learn and improve the next time round. So now I open a Hermes job, already knows everything, my agency, my members, my goals, what I shipped yesterday, what I'm planning next week.

It pulls a line from a note I might've wrote in February and uses it today. And every answer is grounded in my real business. It's not generic AI guesses. Plus Obsidian is free, but it creates one shared brain for not just Hermes, but all of your AI agents.

And I've seen loads of people set this up. So I know if they can do it, you can do it too. These are AI Profit Boarding members who have had awesome results. The great thing about this is as well, that the sooner you set this up, so I'd recommend implementing it today.

The sooner you set this up, the better it gets. The longer you wait, the more context you're missing out on that could give you some amazing inputs or ideas in the future. So let's talk about Hermes alone versus Hermes without a shared brain. So the old way is like you paste it all again.

You open Hermes from a blank slate, 30 seconds wasted per chat. You re-explained who you are and what you do. You copy and paste your goals. You turn your client notes, et cetera.

You don't have a shared brain. So if you do something in OpenClaw, Hermes doesn't know about it. And then you miss loads of potential context and useful notes. You get generic answers from Hermes because it has no past with you.

And the result is like the same questions, the same context, pasting, same flat answers. And that wastes a lot of time, plus a lot of your energy. With this system, using the free shared brain, you can point Hermes at your obsidian vault once, one time. Every job from then on reads real notes.

Hermes already knows your business, your clients, your goals, your voice. It pulls from notes that you've written months ago. And here's the cool thing. You don't even have to write the notes yourself.

Answers actually feel like yours and not generic. The shared brain runs on everything locally. And it's basically like having a teammate that remembers everything, never forgets anything and gets sharper every day. Now, some people say, well, how can this be free?

Well, basically, if you actually look at obsidian, basically what it is, it's very simple. It's just like a collection of markdown files and folders. Like everybody has these fancy ideas of how to give context. But actually, if you look at the best systems, very simple, just markdown files that all of your agents can read and learn from.

That's it. And so this is the Goldie Memory Hermes stack and it works in five layers. So number one, you've got the vault. So your notes become memory.

And if you want to get this set up, literally all you do, this is what I do personally, is I have Omi that takes notes on me. It's a free open source project. We sync that to obsidian. You can see here, we've got 2000 memories to export.

That takes my new memories, plugs it into the vault. And there we go. And then if you want to link this to, for example, Hermes or any other system, all you do is you go inside Hermes, you say, hey, I've got my obsidian set up locally. Please use that for your memory and context in the future.

Simple stuff. So that's a vault layer one. Hermes reads a vault, which is the bridge. Then you've got the shared brain.

So every agent sees the same thing. So Hermes, Claude, OpenClaude, all of them read from the same vault. They speak in one voice with one set of facts about one business and it's all yours. Then Hermes can find new notes from you.

For example, like you can see last month, it can understand what we set up and what we built. And the final thing is the loops. Every new note makes Hermes smarter. Who's writing the notes?

Hermes. So the longer you use it, the smarter it gets. And you didn't have to create any of this yourself. It's automatic.

So you want to make sure you point Hermes at your obsidian vault. The way that I like to do that is just have it built into an agent operating system inside one mission control dashboard. I would recommend that you do the same. That way it's easier to organize, easier to visualize.

You can see everything that's been created. And it's very simple. Some people say my vault is messy. No problem.

Hermes can actually organize your messy notes for you. So if you actually ask Hermes to take all of your notes inside obsidian and improve them and organize them and color code them, it will go off and do that for you. Especially if you give the documentation from obsidian directly to Hermes or to Claude or whatever you prefer to use. And that's it.

And then you have one vault with every agent reading from the same brain. So the same obsidian vault that Hermes reads from is a brain for Claude in OpenCourt2, which means you have one source, it's free, it's shared. So when you ask Claude a question about something on Monday and Hermes a different question on Tuesday, they both speak about you in the same way and everything else that you're working on because they read from the same notes. And this is the part of the system that makes it feel alive.

Your tools stop sort of clashing with each other and they start sounding like one teammate who's been with you for years. Now, some people say won't the agents kind of like get confused if they share a memory. It's actually the opposite. A shared memory means they line up, they align, they sync.

So Hermes finishes the job. It drops a note in the vault. Claude reads it the next morning. The handoff is the wiring.

And that's why people call it a shared brain. It's actually shared across all your agents. Now, again, this is way more powerful inside a mission control system. That's why I recommend building one out because the thing is you could run Hermes on its own.

You could open up Obsidian on its own, but you get the real magic when they sit together inside an agent operating system, right? Because you have one shared brain, not five. Hermes, Claude, OpenClaude, they can all read your vault. They all line up.

They all sound like the teammate. You can see the memory work. So you can actually see what's been built in in one place. You don't need to switch between tabs and apps and everything else.

It's free to do because you can ask Hermes to build this out for you, right? You can ask Hermes to create the mission control for you. Every job actually feeds the brain. So everything you do inside a mission control actually improves it.

And it's always current and up to date. So on its own, like Hermes is a clever agent, but inside of an agent operating system or a mission control with your Obsidian vault behind it, it's a teammate that knows you. Now you might also say, when should I use the shared brain? I would say for the work that matters, right?

Email CLS, client work, content, strategy, copywriting, even anywhere where something should sound like you. For a quick one-off question, obviously a normal chat is fine. And here's the thing worth sitting with. It's like the people who give their AI a memory now, whilst it's free and brand new are going to be miles ahead when everyone else is catching up because every note you write becomes part of your edge.

The skill builds on itself. Most people will watch this and think, oh, that's cool. But they'll keep on copying and pasting the same context paragraph into a fresh chat or a fresh prompt tomorrow. You don't want to be like that.

You want to save yourself time and the energy and just focus on where it actually matters. So in terms of what you learned today, you stopped re-explaining yourself. You got a shared free brain with one vault. You unlocked your old notes with Hermes and every other agent that you use.

Your AI actually begins to sound like you. Your agents stop clashing and they're all using the same vault together and you stay current because everything is updated. So one vault, one shared brain, every agent on the same page.
