01What Agent OS Is and How It Works
Agent OS is a system that links all your AI tools into one command center. It puts everything you need in one place so you can control it all with just a few clicks. In this episode, Julian Goldie showed his own Agent OS setup with voice-activated Hermes, Hermes Oracle, and a studio that can generate images, videos, and voice.
The system also includes a memory system that ties everything together. Your agents can use this memory to give you context and update it every time you talk to them. This means your AI knows your goals, projects, and progress without you having to explain everything again.
Julian uses Agent OS every day to answer questions from his community and help them learn.
02Main Features of Agent OS
Agent OS comes with several built-in features that make it powerful and easy to use. Julian showed a voice-activated version of Hermes, Hermes Oracle, and a studio for generating images, videos, and voice. The system also includes GLM 5.2 plugged into Claude Code and Open Montage for making films with AI.
- Memory system – Automatically records what your agents learn and use it to give better answers over time.
- SEO section – Lets you do keyword research and deploy content directly to your website with agents.
- Backup keys – You can plug in multiple models as backups so if one fails, another takes over.
- Update and changelog system – Track all updates and see the progression of the Agent OS over time.
- /learn command – Agent OS can read a guide and add it as a new skill automatically.
03How to Set Up Agent OS: Step-by-Step
- Download the latest Agent OS zip file from the official source. This contains all the modules and an update.md file.
- If you are on Windows, Julian recommends using the official desktop app. Otherwise, follow the normal installation route suggested for your system.
- Move your existing skill files (markdown files) into Agent OS if you are switching from Claude CLI. Agent OS will learn them the same way Claude does, though it might not be as smooth depending on the API you use.
- Configure five key things for best results: set up Hermes Oracle, connect Gork for video and image generation, give the system its own email inbox, add Firecrawl for web search, and use the /learn command to build new skills.
- To run Agent OS on your phone, set up Tailscale or Cloudflare so you can connect from a mobile device. John Meza made a full tutorial on how to do this.
04How to Use Agent OS: Examples from the Episode
Julian demonstrated several ways to use Agent OS. For SEO, you go to the SEO section, do keyword research, generate content, and deploy it to your website with one system. He also showed how to use the /learn command to teach Agent OS a new skill by giving it a guide to read.
For memory management, Julian uses a three-step process: a tool like OMI listens to his daily work and writes notes, those notes go into Obsidian, and then Obsidian plugs into his memory galaxy inside Agent OS. This way the system knows what he works on without manual updates. Users can also watch video tutorials inside the zip file to see how to update the system and use each module.
05Results, Tests, and Comparisons from the Episode
Julian shared results from testing Fable 5 with 42 different builds on Goldie Bench. Fable 5 ranks number three on the leaderboards and can create things like an open world game and other fun builds. He showed examples of these builds on the Goldie Bench website.
For SEO automation, Julian compared Agent OS with Surfer SEO. He said if you want something that does everything for you—keyword research, content creation, and publishing—Agent OS is a good choice. If you prefer a different tool, Surfer SEO can handle the process.
He also recommended Netlify over WordPress for hosting because Netlify is simpler and connects directly with AI agents.
06Tips, Limits, and Mistakes to Avoid
Julian shared several tips from his experience. Keep memory management simple: use OMI to take notes, plug into Obsidian, then into memory galaxy. If you complicate the system, it becomes hard to maintain.
He also warned that security matters—he does not run Agent OS on his phone because of security concerns, but you can use Tailscale or Cloudflare if needed.
Avoid using WordPress for hosting because it is distracting and time-consuming. Instead, use Netlify for a simple setup. Also, if you have an old version of Agent OS, update using the update.md file inside the latest zip.
Julian tracks all updates in a changelog so you can see what changed over time.
07Who Agent OS Is For and Why It Matters
Agent OS is for anyone who uses multiple AI tools and wants to centralize them. Julian created it to help his community of 3,900 people learn and build together. It matters because it saves time—you don’t have to switch between different tools or manually update memory.
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the system has features for you. Beginners can follow the step-by-step guides and video tutorials. Experts can customize the system and add their own skill files.
The community also offers coaching calls and a map to meet local builders. Julian answers questions every day, so you get ongoing support.
