Jack Dorsey's NEW FREE App: Slack For AI Agents (Buzz!)

Full transcript

Orca is a really powerful, free, open source, agentic development environment for running like fleets of parallel agents. I want to show you how to use it today, but also how you can use it for free. Cause there are some free options too. If you already have a subscription, for example, like Codex, called Code.OpenCode, you can just plug those in to Orca and then it's completely free because you're not paying anything extra for subscriptions.

If you don't have any of those subscriptions, I'll show you a free way to plug in a free API into it. So let's get straight into this. If you want to get access to it, you can get it access on Orca via GitHub. So it is Orca on GitHub.

And then from here, what you can actually do is just download the app. Once you've downloaded the app, it's going to look something like this, as you can see. Basically what you've got here is your agentic development environment. Now what's really cool about this, you can have like multiple different terminals side by side.

So if we start up a new project here, I'll show you how to use it from scratch. We can actually click on browse folder, or we can open up a GitHub repository. So if you've got an existing folder that you want to edit, you can go over here. If you want to clone from URL, you can go over there.

And that would be for a GitHub repository. And then you can also create a new project. So for example, we can create a new project here. And just as a random example, we'll use a website development sort of project to go from there.

I'm going to close this one. And this is the new project that we've just created, the SEO agency. So from here, we can start coding. And then inside the terminal here, we can open up one of our favorite agents, or we can open up multiple.

So if you just want to open up, for example, like Claude, you can go with that and we can start running that. If you wanted to, for example, have another terminal working on the same project, you can right click and then click on split terminal right, or split terminal down. So we click on split terminal, right? We can go with that.

If you want to split terminal down, we can go with that. And then we can also have just like four different terminals working on the same project at the same time, which is really cool. So for example, we could have Hermes over here. You can even have like Kimmy over here, you know, if you've already got Kimmy installed and you can just use all your favorite coding agents to code on the project.

Now, some people at this point are going to be like, well, it's great that the open source project is free, but how do you use three models inside there? So one example, one option could be that you use Hermes, which is free, and then you can use a free API like Ling Flash. So if we, for example, close these terminal windows that we've got here, like so, and you can just right click and close the pane, then we can just use Hermes. And then just be very clear here, free model, free API.

Some people will still say it's not free. It is. And then from here, we can go inside here and we say, okay, create a beautiful website for an SEO agency, just random example. And then we can start coding out with that, as you can see right here.

Now, when you're creating a project, you can also view the live preview of that particular project as well. So this is really good because then you can basically code out a project. Like you can see right here, we've coded out this website using code code, but at the same time, we can also preview that in a new browser. Now, if you want to do that, basically what you're going to get is a local host from the project that you're coding, or you can find wherever you're hosting it from.

So let's say, for example, you create a website. If you're creating a website, that's going to be hosted locally so you can preview it. If you don't have a local host for that, then you can ask an agent that you are coding with to give you a local host. Once you get that local host URL, you can then click on the plus sign at the top, click on new browser tab, plug in the local host URL that you want to go with.

And then from here, you can annotate the page, but you can also preview it. So this is a preview of the actual website that we're creating here. So if we have a look at this page, we can actually select different parts, different elements, and give that as feedback to the agent so that it can go back and start coding for us, which is super useful. By the way, let's have a look how we're getting on with the free project.

Yeah. So you can see it's coding out the project here and we'll get a preview in a second. So I'm actually, whilst we're waiting for that, I'm actually going to say, okay, and we'll close this pane. We'll say, make sure I can preview it in a local host.

We'll come back to that in a second. And then if you go over to the project over here that we've already created before, we can actually click on one of these. So we can grab a page element. What that means, for example, is like, if you don't like that logo, you can just grab it, like so, click on it over here, and then you can paste that into the coding agent that you're using and just select that one single element, give feedback and improve it, which is really useful for apps, for games, for tools, and another cool thing with this is if you're using, for example, a coding agent to build out a mobile app, you can actually preview that too, so you can actually click on plus and then new mobile emulator, an Xcode or an Android virtual device in Android studio, one of those two is required actually view the project that you're building, but if you're just going with like a, a website or a game or a tool or something like that, then you can just preview it in the browser like you can see here, so that's how to select elements.

But then what we can also do is annotate the page. And so what's really useful about this is like, I don't have to keep going back and forth and say, change this, change that, and also I can be much clearer in the element that I'm talking about when I'm trying to change things and increase things. So if we have a look at this, for example, I can actually right click this and I can change and describe what the agent should change here. So if I'm like, okay, make the headline bright yellow, for example, like this, and then I can select the intent.

So there's two intent types when you're annotating the page to improve it. So you could say, okay, change this, make this bit better. Or you could ask a question. So you could be like, well, what, you know, what do you think is the best set up here?

What do you think is the best color? Or could we improve the colors here? So it depends whether it's a command or a question, and then you can just click add. Now, if you click add, it won't go straight back to the agent, which is good because you don't have to like keep going back and forth and waiting for the agent to finish one change at a time.

You can actually just give it multiple different changes. So we can annotate like 10 things on the page and then we can click on send. And once we've done that, it will actually send it over to Cord and our AI agent for coding directly here too. Now, if we go back, we've got Hermes here too.

And you can see that it is finished coding page. And also another free coder that you can use inside this is Antigravity. Now we've got the local host here. And if we click on the plus sign, then we click on browser tab.

Then we open it up. We have the page that we've coded. And I just wanted to show you that because, you know, some people say it's not free, but it is. Like Ling 3.0 is free and Hermes is free.

And actually create, and honestly, like you actually compare the output from Cord code for the same prompt, which was create an SEO agency. This is the Cord code version. And whereas if we have a look at Ling 3.0 and the output we got from that actually looks a bit nicer. So it can do a pretty good job between Hermes and Apex.

Now, another thing that you can do is you can also control this from your mobile. So if you go over to Orca here, Orca mobile, you can actually connect with a QR code, Orca to your phone. So what that means essentially is like you can scan the QR code and then you can actually start coding via these terminals that you're creating on your phone. And honestly, when I've tested out, for example, something like Cord code with the remote feature, it's not particularly good.

It's not great at all. Whereas if you can control Orca and you can use all of your AI agency, you can code multiple different projects at a time. I actually think that's much better. So I haven't tested this out, but I would definitely recommend it if you're thinking about coding on your mobile.

And if you want to be able to be like at the gym, for example, and then coding like that could be pretty cool. And over here we have the automation section. So this means you can schedule in tasks weekly to get your agents to do stuff in the background. Now these could be coding tasks, but I think you can basically set up any sort of schedule tasks here.

Kind of like you could do with Claude or OpenClaude or Hermes. So for example, we can actually click on the plus sign here and then we can select Hermes and then we can type in the Hermes automation and the prompt where it's going to run the project and the schedule, right? So it could be like iterate and improves the code and project every single day and it's better and better, something like that, or for example, research latest AI automation news, and then create a new blog post on my website about that particular topic, and that will just start running as long as you have Orca and your computer running at the same time. So we've covered the automations, we've covered Orca mobile.

You can also search across your projects and I've shown you how to actually view the project you've created inside your browser, plus how to generate mobile apps with this, and then also a couple of other things to note here is that you've got these two skills, so it can use computing, so you can actually get Orca to control your computer and you can enable agents to control any app on your computer. You just have to enable it. Basically what it's going to do is make sure that you have that installed. So you can, when I set it up, you just have a terminal cloud, you press enter, then you press enter again, and then it installs the computing skill.

Let's say for orchestration, which is pretty cool. You can also use voice. I don't personally use that, but you could, and then you can add multiple different agents over here. So you can see, for example, we can switch between all these different AI agents and we can disable or enable them, but yeah, really, really cool tool.

And we've got the mobile decisions, we've got integrations, we've got general, et cetera. So yeah, great, great tool, really easy to use, super powerful. You can use it with free projects and it creates pretty nice stuff. Plus it's very intuitive.

Plus I just, I think it's quite fun to have multiple different terminals and different agents coming at the same time. So thanks so much for watching. That is Orca.
