Today we're going to be testing out a new update from Hermes Workspace which is basically like a native way to create a gateway where you can speak to your Hermes AI agents online so it's got a chat terminal memory skills inspector etc and essentially what this means is that you can have a mission control for your Hermes Workspace. Now if you ever used Hermes you know that like you can get the mission control from version 0.9 you can set up a nice mission control there but you don't really get much control over speaking to the agent directly inside the chat and that sort of thing. So this update just dropped and it's a brand new update as you can see right here so it's Hermes Workspace v2 and what that allows you to do is basically like speak to your AI agents orchestrate different agents you can set up sub-agent orchestration as well and it's an open source project right so you can see how to get it you can get it at Hermes Workspace directly on github and this is exactly how you can use it now if you want to get this set up with Hermes I'll show you exactly how to use this so let's do that right now. Alright so you can see examples here of how we're doing this right so you can actually for example go directly into Hermes you can load up Hermes and just say like can you set this up it will sort of guide you through the process here right so you've got a couple options you could run it through docker or you could do local right so for example here I'm going to say option b which is local so you can run this through docker basically what that means is like if you run the workspace for docker it'll be like kind of siloed away directly whereas if you run it locally it's going to set that up on a local host and we can use that in a second now if we have a look through the examples here you see you actually get like this nice chat right when you're using this now I think this is much nicer than if you're using something like Hermes inside the terminal right unless you're really into CLIs or you're a developer and you're quite technical that's not the nicest way to run this right the other option you have of course you can go over to telegram right so telegram or you can use it inside discord or wherever but again like that's not quite as nice as having kind of like this almost chat gbt workspace where you can speak to your agent directly inside the chat here so that's exactly what we're going to do and we're just going to run this right now the other option you have for set now is if we go back to github here we can scroll down and you can do a one click install like this right so you can open this up get itself there and then you may have to upgrade certain things like you can see now I've installed that let's try that again and sometimes when you're using the terminal directly here you can see for example it uh it refuses to set it up directly inside the chat there so I'm going to go back to Hermes here and there you go you can also run this with atomic chat so if you've ever used atomic chat which is a pretty cool way to run local models and you can set up with atomic chat as well or you can run it with olama local models as well see you can actually run your Hermes agent for free with local models like atomic chat and olama and then you can set up the gateway here now this is an enhanced mode what that means essentially is like these are you can use this with local models right if you just want like the portable version you can just run it like this now in the meantime whilst we're waiting for that to get set up let's talk about what this is and how it works and that sort of thing all right so what is Hermes workspace well basically you know you've got your AI agent which is Hermes now imagine you give that assistant like a proper home not just like a chat window like this but like a full command center that is basically Hermes workspace right so it's a free open source app that lets you chat with your AI run terminal commands browse files manage your memory and control over 2,000 skills all from one screen right so it's kind of like chat gpt but way more powerful because you're using it inside the agent right you're using directly with the agent you can see this is succeeded in setting up so it'll launch the local host in a minute so in plain English this is a mission control for your AI agent so you run it on your computer it's free and you can own everything right all your data is there now what are the key features of this well number one chat so you can actually speak to it inside the chat here number two it's actually got a memory so you can edit memory and manage the memory and that sort of thing number three it's got loads of skills that you can set up right so there's loads of skills you can add there's over 2,000 ready-to-use skills that you can add to Hermes by using this setup and then it's also got a file manager a terminal eight different themes and you can use it on your phone as well which is pretty cool so it uses something called a progressive web app right so you can install it on your iPhone Android Mac or PC it just works exactly the same way on every device now you can see if we run this setup here right then we can see it's working over here so we've got the local host setup and if it struggles to set if not like I would recommend just using Claude to help you so we'll do that in a second and then you can see here we're just configuring it to connect it you can see it's not connected properly right there so just getting Hermes to set up now and I'm going to use Claude code and also there we go right it's loading now so just to recap on that it wasn't as simple as I'd like but you can see here basically we've set this up using this terminal command here right so it's kind of it was set up and it was running but it wasn't connected to the gateway so we had to set up now and then we can just connect this over here as you can see so it's picked up my local model that we're using which is uh well not the the model that I'm using with Hermes which is minimax m 2.7 cloud click continue let's send a test message just make sure it's working boom there we go all right so it's chat ready we've got the enhancements and we've got the two extras set up and you can see with the help of Claude code and also Hermes agent we got that set up nicely which is great so if we open this up now this is what it looks like right and you can see these two are connected side by side so if we go inside the chat here let's just make sure it's working by the way how much nicer does Hermes workspace look versus using the terminal right the terminal 99 people are not gonna including me like 99 people are not gonna understand what the terminal is doing but the actual workspace looks way nicer so this is the workspace on the left hand side this is Hermes normal on the right hand side right which one looks nicer which one's easier to use which one would most people prefer for sure it's this side right and so now we can go full screen on this and just check it out so now we've got this little cool virtual office set up for our AI agents we can actually change this so we can switch the view as you can see here we can have like a round table view as well and then we've got the grid right it's a grid round table or this as well it's really cool like honestly i'm not i test out a lot of different open source projects for open claw for Hermes agent etc but honestly that's one of the coolest things i've seen now if you go to the file setup here you can manage all your files so you can edit and see what's going on inside your sections here i think this is great because you know for example you can upload new skills you can just see everything in a nice clean gateway and it's really easy to just edit things and edit different parts of this you also got the operations section right so you can see these agents working together and then see so there's operations and this conductor right so this is like an office working together this is like a team working towards a mission right really cool and then over here we've got tasks so we've got like a kanban board where we can basically assign new tasks to our agents but basically the whole point of this is making it 10 times easier to manage and 10 times easier to organize right because we've got this whole team working together so but tasks in progress backlog to do etc we can assign a new task over here so we say okay create a new article about Hermes ai seo and we'll put that in to do right here you can assign it to which agent you want to use so for example like this one and then you can add tags to it so you could say okay this is an seo tag and then we'll create the task and boom look at that it's assigned to our ai agent that can start running now in the background and we can check progress on it later and then once it's done you'll be able to show it's done here so once the agent has completed this task it'll move to in progress to review etc and you can move it manually as well like that now over here this is really cool basically Hermes they recently launched a new feature called profiles and profiles allows you to create like multiple different ai agents in the same Hermes setup so you can see for example each of your agents has a different number of sessions so different number of skills different contexts etc you can activate these as well so we can activate each one if we want we can switch between them we can delete a certain profile if we want to but this is just way easier to manage than managing agent profiles inside our terminal and then over here we have the memory we can add new memories to our ai agent in terms of who we are what we do you can see here we've got two different memory files so we can use whichever one we want and this section is the skill section here as well right so we can add new skills and manage all our skills over here so that's really cool really cool setup you can also switch between models so you can see here for example I can switch between local and cloud models so for example like Gemma for cloud or Gemma for local we've got two different options over there and then we can switch between all these different ai's so it's just like a much cleaner easier way to manage everything in your Hermes setup I also like the fact that you can run the terminal if you want to as well you could you could run the terminal and you could use the ai agent inside your terminal too if you wanted to if you still prefer the cli setup but the benefit of that would be like you've got everything in one place so you can switch between the chat the terminal you can switch between the files and the jobs you can look at all your scheduled tasks delete them etc now to be clear here with Hermes v0.9 you've got a you've got a mission control but you don't get the same customization as this I'm sure they'll add it in the future but with the current setup of Hermes on v0.9 you don't get the same setup as this right you get something that just looks slightly different let me try and pull that off here so what you can run inside your terminal is Hermes dashboard right and Hermes dashboard will open up something like this this is with the new v0.9 update from Hermes and this is really cool like you know you can see your sessions you can see analytics you can see like the scheduled tasks you can see the config files the skill setup etc the key setup you know what sort of agents you're using etc it's really cool but doesn't look as nice as this right like compare them side by side this is the default mission control this is the Hermes workspace it looks super nice and then also the other thing I'd say here is uh if you look at this section there's no chat option right you can't chat with your agents directly inside the Hermes mission control again I'm sure they'll add that in like v1.0 or something but right now you can't whereas for example with Hermes workspace you can and you can also switch between apis like seamlessly so it's a really powerful way to just use a new mission control with your AI agents and get started with this and then also the same with the operations like you can switch between these two different office setups and and use them however you want and just watch your agents inside the office that's kind of fun too if you want to get this setup for free it's called Hermes workspace new mission control they just updated it really really cool stuff super easy to use super easy to set up as you've seen today again if you do have any troubles just get Hermes locally in your terminal to help you fix it or you can get cloud code as well to help you fix it the main thing is you can get all this set up pretty quickly as well now if you want to get a full guide and setup process on Hermes how to use it the mission control etc you can get that all inside the AI Profitable Boarding link in the comments description just go to the air profitable.com and we have like new daily guides as you can see on all this stuff right so for example like Hermes they just launched a new one-click integration with olama and we've created a tutorial video on it right there we also have a two-hour course on how to use Hermes here and another six-hour course on how to use open war and if you want to get a full guide on the Hermes workspace how to set up how to use it etc and a 30-day roadmap and a step-by-step operating procedure for that you can get it all inside here too.
