Space Agent: New Autonomous AI Agent is INSANE (FREE!)

So today I'm going to be testing out SpaceAgent, which is a new AI agent built from the founders of Agent Zero. So I'm pretty excited to test this out, see how it performs etc. It's really unique, I'll show you exactly what I mean, but basically it can work directly inside your browser and it's pretty easy to set up. You can set it up in like 30 seconds as you can see right here.

So we can start testing this out. And this is kind of like a competitor to something like OpenClaw or Hermes AI Agents right. It's going to start running here. As you can see and then from here you want to set your LLM right.

Now one of the other cool things about this is you can actually link it to different models so you're running locally. So you can link it to a Hugging Face model for example, you can set the type and then you can run this locally if you want to. So that's a pretty cool way to use it. The other option you have, so you can just go to your API and you can set for example like OpenRouter or whatever you want and plug an API key here right.

So for example you could actually use elephant alpha and just use it for free. So if we go to OpenRouter, settings, grab an API key like so, and then try this right now. And you can set up custom instructions here. So if we hit save now, basically from here we can tell our agent what we want to create or we can try one of the examples above right.

Now that we've loaded in our example. So for example we could say like create a weather report here. And then it will just start working its magic. So you can see it's actually loading right.

And so this works directly inside your browser. It's like a one-click setup, super easy to use. Some of the other stuff that's pretty interesting with this is like it has a time machine so you can go back on like what you've previously done. I'll come on to that later.

And also it just runs in the front end right. So it runs in your browser itself. So whether you open a new tab or you're working from the desktop app etc, the agent can work directly within the same framework. So we'll come on to that in a second.

And then you've got all these options. You got agent where you can give it a personality and that sort of thing. You got user so you can have multiple users do this as well. Add files and upload files.

Then you've got this time travel section. So over here what you can actually do is revert previous changes. But this is a big thing because I know so many people have updated their AI agent like Hermes or OpenClaw and they might spend days setting it up and then all of a sudden it just totally breaks on them. So you got to be careful with that peeps.

And then you got this browser section as well right. So you can actually download an app to use this natively right. So we can download the app here. And then what this means is like basically it can see your screen and it can interact with your browser directly which is pretty amazing.

So you can use it with web browsing too. So to install the desktop app you would just drag it here and then it should set up. Let's open up SpaceAgent so it's on the desktop. And now we've got two versions right.

So we got the version inside our browser and then the version inside our desktop as well here. So we need to set a key. Let's plug that in here. We'll take the same one.

Save that. Let's try this out. So we can drag this, this is a SpaceAgent, we can drag it around that sort of thing and then we say okay create a weather widget, something like that. And it's now we've got a weather widget.

So we're going to create a weather widget here. Something like that. It's now working its magic. So it starts writing the code here directly.

So boom look at that. So it's just created this little widget inside the space right. So it works with you. You can create like your own sort of space.

It's kind of hard to explain but basically you've got like your own UI that you're building inside the space and you can create your own dashboard live. There's so much more you can do for that but basically that that's an example. So let's create this own little weather widget here and then you can chat with this, create whatever you want blah blah blah right. Now if we go to browser here we should be able to start using this inside our browser right.

Now it does say embedded browser is in active development but let's try this out. So if we say okay go to google and find the latest or let's just test this out with something basic. Go to google. All right now this is all happening inside the same space.

So this is the space and you see how we're like for example we've got this widget over here that we've just built. Then we've got the actual browser automation inside this chat here. And it can do everything in one space, one place right. So you can create like your own sort of unique dashboard with AI automation.

So it's like a much more visual version of something like OpenCLR. So if we compare these side by side like let's go over to OpenCLR now. All right this is OpenCLR right and so you look at that there's loads of errors everywhere. But if you look at OpenCLR side by side and you compare that versus something like Space Cadet.

Space Cadet is like way easier to use, way easier to set up. This is the first time I've really used it properly and it can like already uh create so much and code so much and it's working pretty smoothly right. And so the UI is just much nicer. It's a much more interesting interface.

I think something like this would be more usable for most people right. It's easier to understand what's going on. Now if you go to the left the tab here you also got time travel. So if you like create something inside your space that you don't like you can actually revert the changes right.

So you can go back to these different changes right here as you can see. And then also the fact that you don't you like to set it up you don't have to run through like a complicated onboarding or anything like that. And you've also still got the browser pop-up here right. So we can X off that and then we can go back here and we can revert back to like the changes five minutes ago for example.

And it's just like a simple click to get to that which is pretty cool. Now if we go back to the agent here inside this section we can add a personality right. So if you want your agent said like to to operate with you in a certain way or you want to give it context on what you do etc you would just go over here and tell it exactly what you need right. That's basically how it works.

And then if we go back to home this is our space right. This is the space that we've created. Now you can have multiple different spaces. So for example this is the first space we created right with the weather widget and the browser automation and everything else.

If we go back we can create a new one right. And so it's quite interesting because you could have one for example like for your personal life or you know one for productivity. So you could for example say okay create a widget that's a Pomodoro timer and start going from there right. And it's just working on that directly.

Let's see what questions we got here. Thanks for your job. Happy to help. Which says hey man uh yeah we're looking at a space agent right now.

A Greek says meow meow. Mr Goldie what's up? And then Sonia says UI being friendly is huge. Yeah for sure.

So we've got that Pomodoro timer set up here. So this is like we're beginning to build like part of our productivity space if that makes sense. All right so you can see how it's working right here. Now if we go back we can say okay now create a to-do list app.

And so we've got this basically like this UI this space purely for productivity right. And you can do this any way you want. You could have one for personal, you could have one for work, you could have one for something that you're interested in or a hobby etc. And you're using this agent to basically build it out for you directly.

And you can see here it even formats it nicely. So it's put this to-do list right next to the Pomodoro timer. You've now just created two mini apps in this nice little dashboard. It's customized exactly how you want right.

And it's so easy to get your head around okay like here's how it works, here's how to use it etc. So what are the benefits of this? Well you know nice UI setup, it's open source right it's available on github, it's called space agents. You can see it right here.

Easy to set up, easy to use, runs inside your browser so it does have that browser access as well which works nicely. And then we should be able to do some pretty cool stuff with it. So if we all this out now if we say okay now add a digital clock next to it showing the current time in Bangkok. See if it can do that right.

So you've got all these apps just running together. Also one of the other improvements on this is like it's super efficient on tokens which means like if you're using the api's it's not going to be too expensive to do all this right. And it's just coding out things perfectly which is great. So you've got the timer over here, the clock, we have the to-do list over here so we can say okay let's do this.

So you can see here we've got the time, we've got the date, we've got the which is great. So you've got the timer over here, the clock, we have the to-do list over here so we can say okay learn put this in here, learn to use space agent, we can add that as a task, we can tick it off, we can close it etc right. Then we've got the pomodoro timer focus, we've got the clock and you can you can build out like your own sort of mini sass inside one little space which is really cool. And also I think it's one of those things where like the more you use it the more you understand what else you can do with it right.

Like this would be super interesting so for example you could have one setup that's like all your AI tools so you could have for example one tool for image generation, one for video generation, one for content generation and it's like all showing inside one little dashboard as well. Now you might be wondering okay what are spaces? You know so space is like a giant blank wall inside your browser as you see right here right. The agent can pin widgets on the wall, a widget is just a little app so it could be a clock, a weather box, a news feed etc.

Anything that you can code from scratch basically and you can have loads of these on the same page which is pretty cool. Now if you want to chat with it you just go to this little chat box here, you can clear the chat, you can compact the context, you can add more attachments, you can go full screen on it as well. You can see your history and your model settings so if we go to model settings here we can see the defaults. If we want to for example if we're using like open router we can easily switch the model name over here and then additionally we can go full screen on it like that right and now we've got the full screen as you can see with all the chat.

I think it's a lot cleaner to just not go full screen on it but you can see how you can do that right here right. You can scroll through the chat, see what you've built, see what you've created etc. You can also browse the web um and this also uses something called uh tool calling and structured output right which is basically like it's designed to be efficient right so it just writes in plain text when it's writing when it wants to run code it types two special tokens and the code runs it right also uses a YAML instead of JSON for answers which saves tokens and when it does the web browsing as well it basically tries to use it as efficiently as possible. That way it's fast right you can see how fast it worked today but then also it's a lot more efficient on tokens and that sort of thing.

Let's see what questions we've got here does the space agent only work on PC or on mobile phones too as far as I'm aware it's as far as I'm aware it is only available on on the browser or on the Mac right I don't think it's available on mobile yet I'm not seeing anything about that but I'm sure like if it gets more popular as a project or if they release new updates in the future which I know agent zero like for example and this is made by the founders of agent zero like their their model is always really good so I can imagine like in the future they will release something like that.
