Run Hermes Agent FREE With This NEW Model 🤯

So we have a brand new update and a brand new model that you can use for free with Hermes Agent called Step 3.7 of Blast. You can actually use it for free for 30 days. And I'm going to show you exactly how you can plug this into Hermes Agent so you can automate whatever you want for free using this model. And this literally just dropped.

So to get this set up, you're going to want to go to your terminal. And you can see that this is an available free model on Hermes News Portal. So how do you set this up? So what you would do is you open up your terminal here.

Make sure you've got Hermes installed, of course. And then you're going to type in Hermes model. That's going to load up the options. And what you can do from here is select News Portal.

What it's going to do from there is it's going to ask you to log in. Now, you can choose many different models, but we're going with the free one here. And then we can use Hermes Agent for free for 30 days. And you can see previously Hermes was not working.

We didn't have a model set up. Now that we've set up Step 3.7 Flash, it is working. Let's just double check it's using the right model. So what model API are you using?

And you can see that we have Step Fun with Step 3.7 Flash free plugged in with the provider. Now, you might be wondering, OK, how does this model perform? Is it any good, et cetera? So you can actually see the details here.

So it can understand images and also videos. It supports a 256K context window. You also got selectable reasoning levels, so high, medium, and low. Obviously, on OpenRouter, it's paid, but you're using it via News Portal, which makes it free.

And if we look at the top apps being used for this, we can see that Hermes Agent is the top app being used with Step 3.7 Flash. It's also good for Pi. You could use it with Kilo Code. And bear in mind, this just came out, right?

Very recent API that just dropped. And it's quite fast and responsive from what I've tested it so far. So, for example, here, it can actually work for agentic tasks. So, for example, if we say, OK, open up Claude in my browser, it says, done.

Open up Claude in your default browser, and it's opened up a new chat right there, right? So it can actually tool call. It can do computer use. Let's test out something else now.

So here I said, open up the Notes app on my Mac and write a note about the best things we can automate, right? And you see here it says, created the note in Apple Notes, best things we can automate, and I dropped in some ideas on what we could do. If we go into our Notes app here, you can see that it's done that perfectly, right? And this is actually better than some models I've used.

Definitely faster, which is pretty cool. So it works with computer use. It works with browser use agents as well. Your typical sort of agentic tasks.

Very fast as well. And if you actually look at the details here, it is designed for coding, agentic workflows, structured outputs, and long context productivity tasks. All the sort of stuff you would typically do with Hermes. Now what I've actually done is seen if it can connect to local files, for example, my second brain inside Obsidian and all the notes we have about that.

So inside of Hermes, I said here, can you connect to my local Obsidian notes and give me some ideas of what you could automate based on that? It said connected, found your vault. Here's some ideas of what we could do. So for example, I can daily operating system, improve the knowledge graph, work on some of the projects, even create like a better list of workflows based on our notes inside Hermes on Hermes automation ideas.

So pretty powerful stuff. It interacts really well locally. It works with computer use, works nicely with browser use. It's totally free.

Seems really fast as well, actually. That's one of the interesting things here. And very easy to set up. Literally all you need to do is run Hermes update, make sure you got the latest version.

Then from there, Hermes model, login to news portal, and then finally select step 3.7 flash. So let's test it for an agentic task. Like for example, assigning tasks to a different team, right? So inside the Kanban board, what's said here is build out an AICO keyword strategy for keywords around Hermes agent.

Now what it's going to do is triage that task. And you can see now the task is running itself, right? So it's moved and triaged from the strategy over to actually getting the work done. It's actually broken down the goal, the approach, the acceptance criteria, all sorts of stuff is out of scope as well.

And it will just start working its magic. And now that has moved over to completed and the job has been done, right? So it works really well. So just to break this down.

One is step 3.7 flash. Basically, it's a powerful AI model that you would normally pay for, but it's now free for 30 days, right? Step 3.7 and it lives inside your Hermes agent. So you can plug it in as a brick.

And the cool thing about this is from what I'm seeing with AI agents and all the stuff that's coming out. If you look at Hermes most powerful AI agent in the world, it's free, it's open source, right? If you look at these sort of models, they're free and open source too. So the future doesn't belong to the people with the biggest budgets.

It belongs to the people who move first, right? And right now something rare is happening. A few years ago, this kind of AI power was locked away. Only big companies could do it.

Now a single person sitting at a kitchen table can use the same tools. And this can read giant reports. It can run errands for you. It can control your computer.

It can control your browser, right? It can connect to files locally and it works really smoothly. So the way that I look at this is I call this the Goldie lift method. Basically it's the exact way you can think about using new AI tools like this to grow, right?

Most people just grab a shiny new tool and just poke at it randomly, but they get nowhere, right? This process lift gives you a path. And basically what you can do is start using something like Hermes with a new model like this. You can use what you don't understand.

Spend a bit of time learning what the tool does, not months, but just enough to know its powers. Install it and set it up as I've shown you today. And then from there, just find one real task. And this is F, right?

So we've talked about I, which is install, F, which is find one real task, learn, which is learn the tool. And really when you're trying to automate with stuff like Hermes, don't try and do everything at once. Just pick one boring, repetitive task in your life or your business and let the AI try and take over. And then once it works, you can actually teach the AI to do it again, right?

So you can create a skill. Then this can run without you. And it's pretty simple and easy. Now, some people are going to say this is too technical for me, but like I said, if you can just type in a message into your agent, it's going to work, right?

You don't need to be able to code or anything like that. Other people are going to say we can't use these AI models because you have to pay for an API or something like that. But one of the best models that's just dropped is free right now, right? Step 3.7 flash costs you nothing for 30 days.

And so the barrier of using an API isn't there anymore. Other people say I'm too late. Everybody already knows this, but the right belief here is you're early. Most people have never even heard of this model, let alone the agent itself, Hermes.
